The Kilbourn Public Library is very
fortunate to have an active and
supportive volunteer friends
group. Each year they hold three
book sales to raise funds to
support the library. They are
currently preparing for the first
book sale of the year which will be
held on Friday, June 8 from 12
to 6 pm and Saturday, June 9
from 9 am to 4 pm. Now is a
great time for you to donate items
for the sale. Clean out your
closets or garages and donate
your used books, magazines,
DVDs, videos, audio books and CDs.
Drop off your donations at the
library. If you have a large donation
or can’t get your items to the library
yourself, we are happy to pick them
up. Just give us a call!
The Friends also participate in the
Community Dollars program by
collecting Mauer’s receipts. Simply
drop off your receipts at the library.
The Friends organize and tally all the
receipts and turn them in to the
good folks at Maurer’s who donate a
percentage of the receipts back to
the library.
In addition to this, you can
designate the Friends of the Library
as your selected charity when you
use smile.amazon.com, which will
donate a percentage of the price of
your eligible purchases.
If you are interested in joining the
Friends of the Library, we are
always looking for more
volunteers. Assist with library
projects, help with book sales,
sponsor special events and help
raise funds for the library. Come
and get involved and meet new
friends.

May Book Discussion For the month of May join us in reading Dark Matter by Blake Crouch. Dark Matter is a
brilliantly plotted tale that is at once sweeping and intimate, mind-bendingly strange and
profoundly human. It is a relentlessly surprising science-fiction thriller about choices,
paths not taken and how far we will go to claim the lives we dream of.
We will be discussing this book on Monday, May 21 at 6:30 pm. and Wednesday,
May 30 at 1:30 pm. Join us here at the library or participate with fellow readers by
sending a comment to our book club blog at kplbookclub.blogspot.com. Everyone is welcome.
Teens &

& Pages
Young adults in
grades 6 through 12 are invited
to the library for a movie and

Greatest Showman.
Don’t miss out on all
the fun!
