Dear Readers,

When I think of May I think of blooming, planting, flowers, and gardens. This month it is our desire that you experience the planting, blooming and harvest of God’s word in your lives as individuals and as a family.

The Lord’s design for our families is to bring the bless-ing of His word, the harvest of His promises, and the blooming of His purpose. His hand is upon our children to do this, as well as to us as parents. That is an anchor of hope. A hope that our faith can rest in. Knowing that it is absolute that He promises to bring forth the blessing of His word and purpose to our children.

He has promised that the seed of the righteous is blessed. Therefore you and your children are blessed because you are the ‘righteousness of God in Christ Jesus’. May the Lordship of His word, the blessing of His promises and the resur-rection of His seed bloom in your lives this month of May.

God’s richest and newest blessing,'raising faith-filled kids through the word of God',

Simply put, wisdom is the ability to take the things you know and apply them. That is a great way to understand wisdom. We can teach our children so many things everyday of their lives but... if we do not teach them wisdom then we have taught them nothing that they can apply in their lives. If our children cannot take what they have learned and apply it, then we have done an injustice. You can teach your children about God's word and if they never act on the wisdom of God to apply it to their lives and receive what the Lord has for them, then... we have not completed the training.

The Bible tells us that Jesus has been made unto us wisdom! He is the Wis-dom of the ages, the spoken word of God that became flesh, and has become the absolute in our lives. When we realize and believe that it is He that brings to pass those absolutes then we release His wisdom working on our behalf in a

very special and powerful way. First and foremost we must again remember that the

Bible tells us that "the fear of the Lord (which means to HATE ALL EVIL) is the beginning of wisdom!" In that our children can learn to apply wisdom by simply walk-ing away from evil! It's one thing to know that stealing is wrong, but it is wisdom to know it is wrong and walk away from do-ing it!

Watching something that is set before us as 'entertainment', yet infiltrated with evil that goes against God's word and His character is a great place to start teaching your children wisdom! Don't put evil be-fore them letting it get in their eyes, their ears, their hearts! Don't just tell them no you can't but, teach them "why" you are telling them this and why you want them to do what you are saying. Show them what's wrong, what is evil and tell them how one should not follow it! Keep this 'entertainment' that supports things con-trary to God's word and ways shut off! In every area of their lives, keep your chil-dren away from what is ungodly and goes against His word and ways! Teach your children to hate evil and not allow it to darken their lives in anyway. Then wis-dom will begin to work highly in their lives and "He", Jesus, will do great things for them in honor of their faithfulness and obedience to His word!

"Put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator."

Colossians 3:10

There is creativity all around you. So how do you tap your children or yourself into it? First and foremost

you have to realize that all creativity comes from the Creator. It is His gift to us. We experience the re-

newing of creativity as we put faith in His word.

In Colossians 3:10 the Lord tells us that we are to “put on the new self”. In Christ we are amazingly

'NEW' and that 'newness' is being 'renewed in the im-age of the Creator'! We are re'newed' in Christ.

Amazing...

First, to be renewed means to cause to come to ma-turity and 'make new'. It also means we are given

new strength and vigor and we are changed into a new kind of life opposed to the former self. We have been renewed into who the Creator has designed us

to be through Jesus and we have been renewed into creativity!

Secondly, we are renewed “in the knowledge”. This word knowledge means “precise and correct” KNOWING of the Divine! We are being “renewed in the knowing of the Divine Crea-tor”! We are renewed in every area of our lives through Him. He creates us a-”new” into His

wonderful designs. We are renewed by His spoken, creative word.

Thirdly, we are strengthened and invigorated in the precise knowing of the 'image' of the Divine. We've all heard we have been created in the image of God. Well, this word means we

are renewed to God, His divine nature and moral excellence and in the likeness of Him. As Christians, we are transformed into the “blessed” state that Jesus Christ possess and has

given us. We have become “one image” which is His image, because of His power and com-mand.

"The Son (Jesus) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in Him all things were created, things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible... All things have been created through Him and for Him."Colossians 1:15-16

Through Him came all creation. The word 'ktezo' is this word in Colossians. This word defines the word “creator” or “creative”. The word tells us that the world is framed by the Lord's powerful word and His creativity. It surrounds us. This word means, to make a place that is habitable, as God creating the world, and means to “form, shape, completely change or transform a thing”. It means we are creatively re-newed by God Himself... We are surrounded by crea-tivity!

We find that in Jesus Christ, the creativity of God the Father, even the expression of His image and His creativity is working by His power in and through

us. We are transformed and renewed by the Creator and creativity is all around us. All we need do is tap into it by faith.

Creativity is there for you to experience and allow to work within your life. His creative power is at work, designing you and your children, and giving you the unique ability to ex-press. Simply, step out, step in, and “be creative”. By faith you will find His creative gifts change your life as you tap into the reservoir of the “creative life and ability” He is always giving.

So give you and your children the chance to be creative... Tap into Jesus and His creative power! -KW

These cute newspaper flowers require basic supplies and are great fun to make and display (and are perfect for Mother's Day!). Grab your goodies and creativity and have fun!

Supplies:newspaperscissorsflower and leaf stencils (or make your own or draw freehand on the newspaper)water color paintglue stickpopsicle sticks

Trace and cut flowers and leaves from newspaper. Because the newspaper is thin, this is easiest done when cutting more than one sheet of newspaper at a time (we folded our newspaper pages 4 times, to cut through 4 sheets at once). Glue 2 sheets together per flower or leaf. Allow to dry.

Use water color paint to paint details on each flower, or paint the whole flower (whichever you'd like). Paint popsicle sticks. Allow flowers, leaves and popsicle sticks to dry.

Glue a flower and leaves to each popsicle stick. allow to dry. Display as de-sired.

Our display ideas: place in short jar, use beside table settings or food to be served, tie on gifts instead of or with ribbons and bows, glue to handmade card, use as magnets by adding magnetic tape to the back, or hang as garland for a pretty party accent. The uses are limitless! As always, use your imagination and have fun!

So often as women, we look at ourselves as if we were viewing ourselves in a fairy tale’s looking glass and thinking we are really seeing ourselves correctly. As we view our own image through the reflection of self, we fall into that reflection to often define our spouses incorrectly as well. Many times we find ourselves working through the image that we see, with expectations that our hus-bands can be the ‘prince’ that can fix, adjust, or perfect that image through his acceptance. We for-get, no one naturally can fix those imperfections.

So, what is that looking glass? What is the image that we are ex-pecting? How can we define the person on the other side looking back at us? How are we expecting our spouses to fix that and help us remove those imperfections?

You may not realize it, but the looking glass can be standards that you have set that go beyond what God expects. This can in-clude not only standards of rela-tionships, but behavior, under-standing, and right down to the way we look. Those standards have been designed and meant to influence our thinking. Living un-der a standard is exactly what the enemy (Satan) expects and not what God has designed. God’s standard came through Jesus, who died and rose again to give us victory over the image that we find looking back at us. One thing to know, is that it does take humil-ity to look into that image. It takes humility to see what the Lord de-fines, and it takes ‘simple honesty

with yourself’. To receive what He says about you will take you ac-cepting the need to receive His work and not your own.

God’s standard is what He has set in His word. He calls it, “the law of liberty”. How amazing to think of God’s way of doing things as be-ing a ‘law of liberty’! Romans 8:2 tells us there is a ‘law of sin and death’, and goes on to say that through Jesus Christ, we live by the “law of the Spirit of life”. The Lord makes it clear that our free-dom comes through Him and that He whom the Son sets free is free indeed. Jesus brings a law of the Spirit and He is the fulfillment of the ‘law of liberty’ in our lives.

The word of God tells us about the best looking glass there is. It says in James 1:23 & 25

“For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass...But whoso look-eth into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.”

So here we see that the ‘looking glass’ we are to be looking into is the “perfect law of liberty”! How amazingly awesome is His liberty, His perfect law, His word! As we step into His word we find that He says that “faith comes by hearing, and hearing His word!” It is through faith that we plug into and see clearly the ‘perfect law of lib-erty’. It is by faith that we need to look into the mirror of His word.

There are so many facets of the Light reflecting in the looking glass that our faith is to behold. There is the Light of ‘truth’. That is being honest with yourself and with the things that don’t line up with His word. Repentance brings you into the ‘perfect law of liberty’ and releases the word of God and all that Jesus has done for you into your lives. We must allow the word of God to show us error without condemnation.

There is the Light of ‘who He says we are”. Which means seeing ourselves and others as He sees us. He wants us to continue to behold ourselves as He sees us. He does not want us to walk away from His mirror, or reflection be-cause of the way we feel or what we may think of ourselves. We are who He says we are.

There is the Light of ‘what we can do’. The mirror of His word makes it clear that we can do what He says we can do, and that we do that by and through His grace. Knowing His plans for us, and not forgetting those plans He has to do us good, is an important factor of the image that we see. He does not want us to walk away and for-get that because of circum-stances. There is the promise of ‘doing’ the word and not turning away from that ‘perfect law of lib-erty’.

There is the Light of possession. The reflection of God’s word tells us that we have what He says we have. No one can take away from us what He has given. We must simply receive it. The Lord doesn’t want us to walk away from His word and forget His promises. He wants us to take them, claim them, and receive them by faith. We most certainly have what He says we have.

Knowing that His word is the ab-solute in our lives, is the Light of

A Wive’s Tale“The Looking Glass”

by Pastor Kim Robinson

KidWise 15

His promises seen in the reflection of His word. It is not based on what we may think, see or feel, or even experience. It is based on ‘looking into the mirror of His word’ and allowing the reflection of what He says, what He has promised, and what He has done for us to define our lives and ourselves. Be-lieving what He says and not turn-ing from that and forgetting it.

Through this we not only allow Him to define us, but we can allow Him to define our families. Yes, He is defining our spouses and our children. This is His freedom for all!. It is freedom to live in and by the ‘perfect law of liberty’ by be-lieving what He says and allowing Him to define ‘life”. It is His ‘perfect law of liberty’ to allow Him to define us as individuals, by the way He sees us, rather than any stan-dards we may have set. The Lord doesn’t want us pushed down by the law of failure or defeat. We are more than conquerors in Him. It’s just simply based on how you are seeing it...

How are you looking into the reflection of His word and allowing the Light of God to define truth to you? What are you going to do with His reflection? Are you going to see the promise in His word and walk away and forget the image that He has re-vealed?

If so, then you will be, “...like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass...for he beholdeth him-self, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what man-

ner of man he was.” James 1:23,24

As women, we need to see our-selves the way the Lord sees us. We need to teach our children to do the same. We need to see our husbands the way the Lord sees him. We don’t need to build an image on the fact that our spouses see us as the fairest of them all. One day, depending on how he sees himself, he may let you down somehow. We don’t

need to expect our husbands to make us happy when we feel we have failures, because of the im-age we have created that is con-trary to who God says we are.

We don’t need to think that we, as wives can build the image God has designed for our husbands by treating them with a certain stan-dard either. No one can live up to these expectations. The Lord wants us to experience that ‘law of

liberty’ that only comes from look-ing into the image He has made through His word. Seeing what He has promised and knowing it be-longs to us, is the ‘doing of the word’ that He desires. Our faith believes God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him! That’s simply because He said so. (Hebrews 11:6)

No matter how much your hus-band may love you, or you him, that cannot take away those im-

perfections you see about yourself in the reflection. Prince charming isn’t the King of kings. Only Jesus can do that. Only Jesus has the ability to design, fash-ion, and change. We cannot expect our spouses to fix the things about our-selves by loving us, and vice versa. But we can expect the word of God to trans-form!

When we look into the looking glass of God’s word, we need to see the reflection that He has designed. The reflection He has bought for us and freely given to us through Jesus Christ. He has sealed that reflection and framed it with the shed blood

of His Son, Jesus. It is time we simply believe, be all He has made us to be, and do what He says... Now that’s the real image we were created in. Let that reflec-tion shine and don’t turn away from that image and forget who you really are!

I had a friend come up to me yester-day and say, "Elmer, it's Springtime. I love Springtime!" They then asked me,

"What does Spring mean to you, Elmer?" I snapped back and said, "Spring-time to me means watery itching eyes, sneezing and an excessive amount of rain." Well, she looked at me shocked by my answer and said, "Oh... Okay."

As she turned to walk off God spoke to me and said, "Way to go Elmer, that was real nice." I turned around and stopped my friend and then repented for my negative attitude. I then told her that Spring to me represents new, re-born life, much like a person when they ask Jesus to live in their heart. She said, "Now that's the Elmer I know!"

The moral of this story is simple. When you are having a challenging day don't dump your junk on people just because their having a good day. Re-member who Jesus is in you, and do your best to be like Him!

"Then those who were in the boat worshiped Him, saying, 'Truly You are the Son of God.'" - Matt 14:33

Did you know when you step out in faith somebody is watching you? Because of what you do, others will be able to see Jesus Christ. Especially your children.

Your life will effect someone else, somehow, somewhere. As Peter stepped out of the boat and walked on water, he did it by the word of the Lord. Jesus said, "Come..." through Peter's obedience, others were watching and others had a revelation of who Jesus was.

By one simple act of obedience, on the spoken word of God, Jesus was revealed as the "Son of God.” As the Lord bids us to go into all the world and preach the Gospel, a simple factor in this is to just step out in faith right where you are and do what He's asked you to do. There is somebody watching you. He will back you up with His signs and wonders as He bids you to come!

Through your act of faith, just as Peter's, you will reveal Jesus to the world. Through this you find that your witness comes through your re-lationship with the "Son of God" and the testi-mony He has given you! So step out in faith and obedience and you will be preaching the Gospel in the world. You are a living epistle to those who are watching. It's that simple...

Radical Radical de!ned simply means, "fundamental or basic". Society has placed a more notorious de!nition to it. It is meant to signify something that is looked upon as good. So, I said all that to say this, it's okay to be a "radical Christian". That's a believer who actually believes and practices what the Word of God says. Are you concerned that if you truly proclaim what you say you believe (and I don't mean with a Louisville Slugger in hand), that someone may refer to you as a radical Christian? I would much rather be looked upon as a radical than a pansy.

Ok, I know... I just lost some of you with that statement, but hey, the word pansy is much like the word radical, it has a true original meaning and then a lot of slang meanings. I was using the word pansy in it's true original meaning which is, "a violet, a richly various colored "ower". The point is, God needs radi-cal Christians. He needs the Peter and Paul type to win the lost and preach His goodness. He has plenty of pansy's sitting in the pews

looking and smelling good every Sunday morning.  It's time to revolutionize our minds, which will facilitate changes in ourselves. Then we'll see how God changes those around us. I'm saying go out there and be a 'Son-"ower' for God and be a budding re"ection of His Son, Jesus. Simply said, put some legs to your faith and don't allow man’s opinion to shape your witness. Serve God in such a way that it draws others to the well of living water to drink (read John chapter 4). After all, His resurrection was also our resurrection, so lets go out! Jesus has crushed the devil and his demons under our feet. Jesus said "Go into all the world and make disciples", Matthew 28:19. Don't just sit and be a "ower, many times what looks like a "ower turns out to be a weed...

Psalm 15:1-5 This is one of my favorite scriptures, it tells you exactly what you need to do to be in Gods presence. I know it could possibly seem hard and relig-ious and as if you weren't good enough for God, but thats not the case at all. All the things the Holy Spirit mentions here through David are aspects of love, speak-ing the truth from a sincere heart, and not harming your neighbors, etc. God's ways aren't about having to amount to anything, on the contrary, He wants to bring things to you and for you. It is His desire for you to walk in love because it is the best thing for you. So when you ask the Lord what can I do to be worthy? You can know, you are already made worthy through Jesus Christ by His love. Now its your turn to love and walk in Gods call for you.Ephesians 4:1.

"Lord, who may dwell in your sacred tent? Who may live on your holy mountain?"

The word of God tells us in Psalm 15 the answer to this as well. It says in verses 2-5, , "The one whose walk is blameless, who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from their heart;  whose tongue utters no slander, who does no wrong to a neighbor,   and casts no slur on others; who despises a vile person but honors those who fear the Lord; who keeps an oath even when it hurts,   and does not

change their mind; who lends money to the poor without interest; who does not accept a bribe against the innocent. Whoever does these things will never be shaken."

"As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received."
