This percentage is even higher among minority youth populations. Increased risk among youth for insulin resistance, hypertension, joint pain, early puberty, depression, anxiety, and eating disorders 20% of youth calories come from snacks with more fat and less calcium than ever before Slide 5 State of Maryland 66% are overweight 7% of adolescents meet recommended daily consumption of fruits & vegetables 84% of high school students failed to meet recommended levels of physical activity Slide 6 4 Key Questions How can we help youth shift to healthier habits to last a lifetime?
