Each of us, on our own journeys and paths, vocations and ministries, are part of this ‘flock’ because of the deep desire to ‘know’ God more deeply. It is a very special thing. No matter what our role is in our community, parish, church and so on, it is important to remember what it is that brings us together – the desire to know God, to know God’s love and to share that love and ‘knowledge’ with others, especially those who are lost and at the margins. Very often, those most ‘lost’ in our communities do not experience the presence of the Christian community as they should, they can be cast aside and excluded. Jesus tells us here, no one can snatch them out of His hand. This week can you try to recognise that deep desire within you to know God more fully? What does that mean for you? What does that mean for those you meet in your day to day life? If you have come to help me, you are wasting your time. But if you have come because your liberation is bound with mine, then let us go together’. - Aboriginal Woman, anonymous Jane Mellett, Email [email protected] (Intercom) Today, the Fourth Sunday of Easter or Good Shepherd Sunday is a special day for everyone in our parish and our Diocese. We celebrate World Day of Prayer for Vocations. We ask that we may be filled with joy and the Holy Spirit as we carry on the mission of Jesus, our Good Shepherd. We pray in thanksgiving to day for our Bishop, Priests, Religious and Deacons and for an increase in vocations in the Church. May our youth listen to God’s call and be encouraged to respond generously. The Collection for the support for the priesthood for our Diocese takes place this weekend Sunday 17 th April and replaces the Share Collection.

Centenary of the 1916 Easter Rising - 24th April 2016

To mark the 100th anniversary of the 1916 Easter Rising

next Sunday 24th April we will proudly display the

excellent work submitted on The Rising by the children of

our local primary schools. The pupils embraced all they

learned on the events of the time to complete some

wonderful material. This was achieved by the hard work of the teachers who

equipped them with the knowledge on the subject which they now have to

pass on to future generations.

Please drop into the parish centre next Sunday after all morning masses to

view the display of the work of the children of Ireland 100 years on.
