Dear Jose Angel,

I have not lost any tooth but one is loose. We do not leave our teeth for a little mouse but for a tooth elf under our pillow. Then the elf gives us something. What is a GI Joe that you are going to buy for the soles?

What are soles? Is it your money? Our money is Kronur and it has a picture of cod on it. All our coins have pictures of something from the sea.

Good bye,Gisli Tryggvi

Writing a Story TogetherSonnie, a student in Japan, began a story about dinosaurs and sent it to students at Delmar Elementary in Maryland. Students in Illinois also added to the story.

Our Dinosaur story started in Japan...

200,000,000 years ago, there lived a dinosaur family and many horseshoe crabs in a sea. Dinosaur family has four persons. Mother and three brothers. Their father dino had gone somewhere some years ago. So the children did not know who their father is. They live in the east part of the sea. On the other hand, there are so many horseshoe crabs live in the south part of the sea. One day three dino's children were walking around the sea. There came a big wave. So the eldest dino's children disappeared suddenly. Two dino's children were so much worried and hurried back to their home. But they lost the way to their home. What do you do next? How do they know the way to their home?

Written by Sonnie, student of Isamu Shimazaki, in Japan

Friends in Illinois continued the story…

The lost little dinosaurs sat by the sea and cried. Two little horseshoe crabs came to see what was wrong. The horseshoe crabs told them that they will help. All the horseshoe crabs joined together in the shape of an arrow. They will show the way home for the dinosaurs. The little dinosaurs follow the horseshoe crabs a long way. When they get home the dinosaurs saw their lost dinosaur brother. Everyone was so very happy. The dinosaurs said thank you, thank you to the crabs. The dinosaurs lived happily every after. The horseshoe crabs went back to the sea. They were happy with their new friends.

Katie added to the story...

You'll never believe. A large wave took me to an island. There was a treasure chest full of gold. I saw a skeleton holding a sword. I saw coconuts on the ground.

Frog sent a letter to Toad so that he would be happy when it was time for the mailman to come.

A best friend is a friend. Rebecca is my best friend because she helps me and I help her. I help her learn. Will you be my friend? I can be just like Frog and I can send you a letter but I won't be a snail. I will send it through the telephone wires and the computer.
