There is no strong evidence yet, that tablet computers give bad impact to children, as there is no research result released yet on this. So scientifically, the impact is still debatable.

Menurut sebuah studi pada 2004 yang dipublikasikanjurnal Pediatrics anak-anak yang menonton televisi saat usiamereka 1 sampai 3 tahun mengalami penurunan perhatian saatusia mereka 7 tahun.

Solitary playTahapan pertama, bermain sendiri dimulai masa bayi, mereka mulai mencari tahu lingkungan sekitar, menemukan hal-hal baru dan belajar dari lingkungan. Hal ini terus berlanjut sampai usia batita. Mereka mungkin bermain dekat orang lain tetapi mereka bermain sendiri dengan mainannya.

Parallel playBermain parallel, anak bermain di ruangan yang sama dengan temannya, bermain dengan mainan yang sama, salingmengamati, dan meniru satu dan lainnya tetapi mereka tidak saling berinteraksi.

Associative playIni terjadi pada usia 3-4 tahun, pada tahap ini anak bermain bersama tetapi mereka tidak bermain dalam aktivitas yang terstruktur. Mereka belum bisa bekerja sama dalam melakukan sesuatu.

Cooperative playIni tahapan untuk anak usia 4-5 tahun, pada usia ini kematangan emosi dan perkembangan sosial anak mulai baik, mereka bisa bekerjasama waktu bermain, bisa saling interaksi,bisa menghargai milik orang lain, minta ijin jikamenggunakan barang milik orang lain tetapi mereka tidak saling berinteraksi.

Selain itu, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa anak-anak tidak belajar sesuatu yang substansial, seperti bahasa, dari layarseperti televisi, tablet, atau personal komputer sampai usia mereka 30 bulan. The American Academy of Pediatrics menyarankan orangtua harus menunda pemberian gadget seperti tablet dan komputar sampai usia mereka 2 tahun.
