School History

In 1971, Khoonchae Christian Wittaya School was established as a nursery in the land area of 4,800 square meters. The school project was implemented by Mr. Thaworn Wongpadungtum and Mrs. Sunee Wongpadungtum, pastors of Haukhoonchae Christendom. Initially, there were only 8 children. The number of children had been greatly increasing later. Therefore, the school was approved by the liaison committee of Haukhoonchae Christendom and was provided a school establishment license transferred from Santirat Padungwit School on May 17, 1974. The name of the school was later changed to be “Khoonchae Christian Wittaya School” on November 13, 1974. Mr. Thaworn Wongpadungtum, representative of the Foundation of the

Church of Christ in Thailand, was the founder of the school. Mr. Somdee Seesung was the then School Director and General Manager. The school had 4 teachers and 61 students, offering academic courses for kindergarten 1, 2 and 3 and grade 1 students. There was the first 3-storey schoolhouse including 12 classrooms in the school.

The red cross represents love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ for humankind.

The book represents knowledge leading to intelligence.

The luminous light represents lighting up a proper way for others.

The ears of rice represent respect and prosperity of the school.

The school’s colors are yellow and violet.Yellow represents brightness and prosperity.Violet represents richness of knowledge.

The objectives of the school are made up to be compatible with the Thai society and can be listed as follows

Silver metal level on grade 6 students’ Ordinary National Education Test (O-NET) certified by Office of the Private Education Commission (OPEC).

High quality school guaranteed by The Office for National Education Standards and Quality Assessment.

CurriculumAt present, there are academic courses ranging from

kindergarten to middle school level. Students of all levels are educated in major subjects consisting of English, Mathematics, Thai, Science, Social Study, Religion and Culture, Computer, Art, Music, Swimming and Physical Education.

The curriculum of all education levels are divided into 3 programs:

1. Regular Courses – all subjects, with the exception of English, are taught using Thai language.

2. Intensive English Courses (IEC) – all subjects, except Thai, are taught by specialist native English teachers.

3. Mandarin Courses – Chinese language (Mandarin) is taught by native Chinese teachers.
