4.0 Setup ProcedureTo set up the Elastix Server for the Khomp EBS E1 SPX 300,1. Go to the web address of the Elastix Server Login page. The web address isdetermined by the customer, for this guide we have used the IP address 192.168.1.75

2. On the Login page, type the username and password for an administrative user intothe Username and Password fields, see Figure 4-1. The username and password aredetermined by the customer.

3. Press Enter or click on the Submit button to go to Elastix’s Dashboard

4. Once inside, click on the down arrow located next to “Reports” tab and select“Addons”. This will take you to the Addon Market. See Figure 4-3.

5. In the Addon Market, type “khomp” into the name field to find Channel KhompAddon and click on Install. The installation will take few minutes. See figure 4-4.

6. When installation has finished, click again on the down arrow next to “Reports” taband a Khomp option must be listed. (Figure 4-5).

7. Click on Khomp option. This will take you to the Khomp module (Figure 4-6)

8. To find your Khomp devices automatically, click on “Search” button. You will see alist of connected devices. To configure click on the corresponding check box of themodel and click on “Add” button. See figure 4-7.

9. After few seconds you will see the found devices as shown in figure 4-8. Toconfigure it click on the model that appears with blue letters.

10. In this section we can choose the correct signaling for having communication withthe provider. For this example we will configure E1 as a TE port, it means we willreceive the clock signal from ISDN provider. Set the following parameters (Figure 4-9):

IP: IP Address for EBS E1 SPX 300 (192.16888.1.77 in this example) Synchronism (clock): Receive

Profile: ISDN

Note: If you need to generate clock and configure the port as NT, you should select“Generate” in Synchronism column and “ISDNNetwork” in Profile column.

11. After setting the parameters click on “Save” button. This will take you back to theprevious screen, but now you will see the IP Address you configured (Figure 4-10).

12. Now go to “System => KIBS” from the Khomp Module and select the ElastixServer’s IP Address. Click on “Salvar” and “Apply” button. Figure 4-11.

13. Now you need to restart k3lserver and asterisk service. Open a ssh session or logindirectly from your Elastix server, then enter the following commands. Figure 4-20

service asterisk stop

service k3lserver restart

service asterisk start

14. Back to Elastix Web Interface, click on “Monitoring => Devices”. Here you can seethe status of the Khomp device and some information. Check the status is shown as UP.Figure 4-13

15. Wait a few seconds until Khomp server start correctly. Now click on “Devices”.Here you can see the status of the Khomp device and some information. Check thestatus is shown as UP. Figure 4-14

Note: If you have troubles and the device is not shown, try to stop asterisk, restartk3lserver and start asterisk again. For this refer the Appendix at the end of thisdocument.

16. In Monitoring section you can check the status of the device, channels, links andservices running.

17. Once we have configured the EBS E1 SPX 300, we’ll create an incoming route forthe calls from PSTN to our E1 port. We’re going to use an IVR for incoming calls butfirst let’s create a SIP extension that will be one of the IVR options. For this go to “PBX=> PBX Configuration => Extension”. Click on “Submit” having selected the “GenericSIP Device” option. (Figure 4-15)

23. We will also configure an Outbound Route for outgoing calls depending on a prefix.For this we have to configure a Custom Trunk in Elastix Server. Go to “PBX => PBXConfiguration => Trunks”. Click on “Add Custom Trunk” link (Figure 4-20).

24. On the Add Custom Trunk page, set the following (Figure 4-21):

Trunk Name: A name for the trunk (“Khomp_Trunk” in this example) Custom Dial String: khomp/b0L0/$OUTNUM$ in this example

b0: It refers the ID of the device. In this case is 0L0: It refers the link number (port) of the device. In this case is 0Note: You can find the ID and Link number on Figure 4-11.

25. Click on “Submit Changes” and apply changes. Go to “PBX => PBX Configuration=> Outbound Routes”. Click on “Add Route” link (Figure 4-22). Set the following:

Route Settings

Route Name (“9_Outside_Test” in this example)Dial patterns

Prefix (“9” in this example) | Match pattern: (“.” in this example)Trunk Sequence for Matched Routes

0: The trunk that we just created (“Khomp_Trunk” in this example)

26. Configure the IP (SIP) Phone with the correct parameters (See figure 4.16). Nowyou can make calls to the PSTN using the EBS E1 SPX 300 by calling a telephonenumber with “9” as prefix.

27. This step completes the procedure for making and receiving calls through EBS E1SPX 300.
