Welcome to the Annapolis Book Festival! This event, now in its fifteenth year, is an opportunity for the Key School community to host what has become one of the premier events in Annapolis. With over two dozen author panels, musical performances throughout the day, and a dynamic offering of activities for children, there is literally something for everyone to enjoy. Our Town Crier will be making announcements throughout the day about the events taking place all over our beautiful campus. The Annapolis Book Festival would not be possible without the commitment of the Key School’s Parents’ Association, and the army of volunteers who spend countless hours over the course of the fall, winter and early spring planning and organizing the day’s activities. Their support is essential, and the Annapolis Book Festival you are enjoying today could never have been realized without their dedication and support. On behalf of The Key School, and all of our visitors to campus, I want to thank all of our volunteers, and this year’s Co-Chairs of the Festival, Cliona O’Callaghan and Emily Oland Squires. The efforts of the Festival leadership and volunteers are bolstered by our Festival Sponsors. We truly value the support of over one hundred local and regional organizations that help make this event possible. For the third consecutive year, Key parent Steve Stavrou and the Stavrou Companies are serving as the Festival’s Title Sponsor. This year’s Authors’ Committee, under the leadership of Liz Glass and Jennifer Nespole, has put together a truly dynamic slate of author panels. I expect the conversations taking place today will be engaging andinsightful and, at times, challenge each of us to reflect on our beliefs and values. For nearly sixty years, Key School’s Mission has focused on giving our students the tools to listen, question and think critically about the world they navigate. Today is an opportunity for us to share our Mission with all of you, and we are excited to do so. Enjoy your day. Regards,
Matthew Nespole, Head of School
