Australia has an acute shortage of well trained and qualied staff to meet this social need. This situation is more critical in regional areas in Australia.

The Health and Community Services Programme provides students with an education that is guaranteed to enhance student’s skills and knowledge and provide the opportunity to achieve their career aspirations. As part of this programme students will benet from work placements with leading aged care and community services organisations. Students will have the opportunity to practice new skills in real life work situations. The programme comprises of 3 stages – with the rst 2 stages undertaken in the rst year of study and the 3rd stage undertaken in the second year of study.

STAGE 1 – CHC33015 Certicate III in Individual Support (Ageing) – this qualication is an entry level qualication designed to provide the student with the practical skills to enter the workforce.

STAGE 2 - CHC43015 Certicate IV in Ageing Support – this qualication will further enhance the skill knowledge and practical training of students.

SSTAGE 3 - CHC52015 Diploma of Community Services – this qualication is a higher level qualication and will provide students with the practical skills to manage individual cases and work more autonomous and without supervision. These skills are essential when working in home care, disability or community services and will enhance the opportunities of students to further their careers within an organisation.

Myra is an overseas trained Registered Nurse who migrated to Australia in 2010. She holds a Graduate Diploma in Acute Care Nursing and is currently completing her Master in Nursing with Clinical Education and Leadership being the core units. She has over 20 years of experience within the acute care surgical environment, and has a broad range of clinical experience including, for example, General surgery, Orthopaedics, Neurosurgery, Post Natal and Gynaecology, Paediatrics and Laparoscopic Assisted Robotic Surgery. Myra has also has leadership and education experience as being a Clinical Nurse Specialist, an After Hours Manager and a Clinical Facilitator. She believes that, regardless of the specialist area of expertise, developing strong working relationships with colleagues, patients, relatives and the multi-disciplinary team is essential to ensure that person-centred care is a priority. Myra is also a committed trainer, who is passionate about ensuring that the training and assessment environment incorporates the principles of adult education, that is ensuring the specific needs and learning styles of the student are met.

Sarah is a Registered Nurse and holds a Graduate Diploma in Advanced Nursing Practice. She has worked in a variety of health care environments in both Metropolitan and Rural areas, and has a broad range of clinical experience including, for example, Emergency Medicine, Brain Injury, Spinal Injury, Orthopaedics, Neurological, Vascular, Infectious Diseases, Colorectal, Acute Care, Dementia Care, Oncology, and Cardiac Care. Sarah has strong professional interests in evidence-based Primary Healthcare, Research, and Health Promotion. She believes that, regardless of the specialist area of medical care in which she works, developing strong working relationships with clients is central to evidence-based and compassionate health care. Sarah is also a committed trainer, who is passionate about ensuring education and assessment take a student-centred approach, which includes being supportive of student learning and meeting high quality standards.

Industry recognised, highly accomplished Senior Manager, currently working as "Chief Executive Officer" in the "Vocational Education & Training Industry" running 2 distinct businesses ( RTO's) experienced in Domestic and International students and all governance and compliance standards from ASQA & CRICOS. A successful career in "Operations Management", "Sales and Marketing Management" and "RTO Management, running all aspects of a business at Senior Management level. Team Leadership, Project Management, Business Process Improvement & Strategy are included in my skills and experience. Successful tenures at “Group Colleges Australia”, “Macqaurie Business Training College” and "Power Training Corporation". A “Certified Practicing Marketer” which is the highest standard, from the “Australian Marketing Institute” and recognised within that sector with a Marketing Excellence award. A Professional member of "Australian Human Resource Institute". Successful Management of Government regulator ( "ASQA") & (CRICOS) audits leading to re-registrations and addition to scope for RTO's.
