Doors.NET Software and NXT Hardware Product Family

This class will focus on NXT Hardware and Doors.NET Software (with Reflections Video Integration)

Pay special attention to text in red

•Keri’s newest and most modern product line

Page 5: Keri Training ADI Presentation

Doors.NET Software

•Modern Platform -Microsoft .NET framework-based -SQL Database -introduced in early 2010 -IT Friendly

•Multiple Operators at the same time -Client/Server architecture -Optional additional Client licenses - No charge for most software configurations

•Reflections Video Integration -Provides a number of unique features that customers can really use -search access history for video events, email messaging of video snapshots, no reliance on time stamps

for video evidence among many features

•Manages an Embedded IP NXT Hardware-based system

-has options such as photo badging, extra Clients, integrated video, Professional Reports

Package, Visitor Management, and IT Package

Page 6: Keri Training ADI Presentation

NXT Controllers

•TCP/IP (Ethernet) Networking for controllers -can use existing customer network, or customer can create their own network for the

security system -built in Ethernet capability, no LAN adapters required -Doors.NET Server and Clients connect via TCP/IP -Once programmed, everything is in memory, so they function even when offline -Has all door functions (reader input, lock relay, door contact and REX)•Available in 2 reader and 4 reader models -NXT-2D and NXT-4D (4D is less expensive on per door

basis) -comes with enclosure, but can be ordered without

•Managed by Doors.NET software

•Uses NXT Proximity Readers (best) •or use Wiegand output readers such as HID, biometrics,

etc. (requires Reader Interface Module)

Page 7: Keri Training ADI Presentation

NXT Readers Advantages

Readers are connected to controller via RS-485 with a heartbeat providing supervision

Encrypted 64 bit format from Cards to Readers - no other system offers more security

1000’ distance from controller to card reader, with less expensive cable required compared to Wiegand

Various styles for US and European mounting

Lowest Cost option

NXT-3R Mullion Mount

NXT-5R Mullion Mount

NXT-1R Euro Mount

Page 8: Keri Training ADI Presentation

•NXT-C Standard Light Proximity Card -lifetime warranty -lowest cost credential type, best read range -no duplicate numbers, unlike most HID and other

Wiegand-output technologies

•NXT-I Standard Light Proximity Card -photo imageable by PVC badging printers -thinnest credential type -no duplicate numbers -1 year warranty -available with and without mag stripe (-P and -S

versions)

•NXT-K Key Ring Tag (FOB) -attaches to key ring -lifetime warranty -no duplicate numbers -shorter read range due to small size

NXT Series Credentials

Page 9: Keri Training ADI Presentation

•NXT-4X4 -provides an additional 4 inputs and 4 outputs (general purpose) -can connect one NXT-4X4 on each reader bus (two on NXT-2D, four on

NXT-4D) -for auxiliary I/O linking functions, and allows moving door functions out to

the reader location for wiring savings -comes with enclosure, but can be ordered without

NXT Hardware Options

•NXT-RM3 -required for interfacing with Keri MS Readers (normally associated with PXL-500

Controllers) or readers with Wiegand output such as HID -one required for each reader bus that has a non-NXT reader connected -plugs right onto NXT controllers or NXT-4X4 -is more expensive solution than using NXT Readers

Ethernet / TCP/IP

•Controllers connect via TCP/IP -installer simply “hangs” them on the network -next clicks the “autoconfigure” button to take advantage of Keri’s “Plug and Play” technology in

Doors.NET, and the controllers are discovered and placed in the software -then installer assigns them IP addresses

•NXT Readers and I/O Modules connect via RS-485

-use RM-3 Reader Interface if HID or other readers are used

•Server and Clients also connect to Network

NXT + Doors.NET System Diagram

Page 11: Keri Training ADI Presentation

• Connect up to 4 IP cameras (such as Axis) directly to network to integrate with Doors.NET for recording, and then searching events

• Provides live viewing of 1 camera at a time

• Included with Doors.NET software at No Charge

Reflections Video Client Integration (optional)

Record and view live video from multiple video sources with a single uniform user interface even when using solutions from different video vendors

Drag and drop access control hardware support from within the Reflections Video Software Client

View door or input status and control doors or outputs from within the individual camera frames in live view modeDirect IP camera support (view, record and control) without

the need for an NVR or DVR

Email a snapshot burst notification of designated video events or send an SMS

Up to 4 monitor live viewing support - single, 2x2, 3x3, 4x4 or 5x5 frame support

Play video history from within Reflections or the access control Client, even if the DVR/NVR has overwritten them

No reliance on time synching between access and video systems, as Keri links both the access and video data at the time the event transpires using a unique database identifier

Cardholder photos can pop up on the fly within the video screen on card presentation

Observation Video allows the user to initiate video recording or snapshot bursts on command

Separate Client That Provides Many Unique Features

Allows addition of more cameras beyond the included 4 capacity of Reflections Express

Reflections keeps copies of stored video clips, even if DVR/NVR has overwritten them

• USB Adapter plugs into PC’s USB Port, then converts to Ethernet

• Creates its own network for NXT controllers

• No IT knowledge required for installation

• Alleviates problems with an uncooperative IT department

• ADI sells AutoUSB pre-packaged NXT Kits and the standalone AutoUSB device

AutoUSB Simplified Networking

Page 14: Keri Training ADI Presentation

2) After the controllers are installed, connect the the USB-A converter to the PC and an Ethernet Patch Cable going to a single controller

USB Process

1) Install the controllers and connect to readers, etc.

or to an Ethernet Switch to connect to multiple controllers

Page 15: Keri Training ADI Presentation

USB Process (cont’d)

8) The installer hits apply and the configuration is finished.

4) Install the Doors.NET software

5) Install the driver for the USB-A Adapter

169.168.109.50

7) The Doors.NET program will sense all controllers on the network and assign IP addresses in the 169.xx.xx range.
