Amazing Prep!
Welcome to Week 3!
This week we have been loving our investigation
activities, in particular; making table, playdough
and drawing on the promethean. Students had a
go at independently writing from a model about
what they had done in investigations this week
and they all did a fantastic job!
In Jolly Phonics we have been learning about the
letter t and the sound it makes. Students made
some fabulous glitter turtles during our craft
session, they are displayed in out classroom if
any parents would like to come and check them
out. We are moving on to the letter i on Thursday.
In Math’s we are practicing counting to 10. We
have been doing math group rotations and have
been playing hands on maths games in
those sessions. Students are loving the
gemstone counting game, magic beans
counting game, using pegs to count out
numbers and the aquarium counting game.
IMPORTANT:
Please remember to check your child’s
reader folder each night as notes go
home in them regularly.
Tissue boxes, art smocks and
headphones need to be brought in.
Help with contacting students work books
is still needed, so please if you are
able to help let me know.
ICT forms need to brought back ASAP.

with swimming. The children are doing well with
their swimming routine and are all having a go!
Spelling: spelling we are doing a-e words and
learning to use adjectives. Spelling homework is
due on Friday!
Reading: don’t forget to read every night. We are
learning to use prior knowledge, boundary
punctuation, cross checking and checking for
understanding.

leaning about prime, composite, square and
triangular numbers. This week we have had some
pretty cool Maths Problem of the Day too!

and learning how writers use notebooks.
Well done to everyone for giving it your best go
at swimming and don’t forget your swimmers.
One of our riddles of the day: What word starts
with “p” and ends in “e” and has thousands of
letters??????????????????? Ask your
child the answer!
Just a reminder:
ICT notes are due back if you have not
already
Grade 5/6 have PE on Wednesday and
MARC on a Friday.
Grade 3/4 ....incredible!
The amazing grade three’s and fours have begun their SAKGP with vengeance. Yesterday they worked like Trojans digging up and turning over garden beds, adding manure, compost and straw for soil health. Some of the team also spent a good hour digging out those nasty Bindi’s from around the grassed area near the playground. Many hands make light work-we collected a whole wheelbarrow full of weeds! Great job everyone. Mind you, there are many left. Our “WEED WARRIORS” shall continue the fight.
Inside the classroom we have looked at:
Setting up our Spelling routine and expectations
organised our Maths and Reading groups and those routines
began to study Geography about our beautiful country.
Swimming in the afternoons has been great and many of us continue to improve through sheer determination. Great job everyone.
Thanks to our reading volunteers who just slip in and get the practise happening. We love you! Don’t forget if you need to chat, make an appointment so we can assist. Thanks for returning our classroom agreements so quickly!
Stay cool.
Jen, Pete and the amazing grade 3-4.
