The cooperative has roughly 550 members that cultivate roughly 39 hectares of coffee. The washing station is in the Kirinyaga district, on the slopes of Mt. Kenya, and is well known for producing some of Kenya’s finest coffees. The soil is deep red in color with high mineral content. The SL 28 and SL 34 cultivars are Bourbon hybrids originally developed by Scot Labs in order to have more disease resistance. Yields are not great but cup quality is outstanding. SL 28 tends to be much fruitier in character while the SL 34 tends to be more balanced with a heavier body and sweetness. This AA grade from Kiringa is a great example of what Kenya really has to offer with flavors of currant, apricot and tangerine deliciously balanced with cane sugar and a silky body. Refined and complex this coffee is sure to make a lasting impression. Our most celebrated single origin coffees from every growing region around the globe. FROM THE COFFEE COLLECTION

This “Kiringa” comes to us from the Kabare Farmers Cooperative Society.
