Kenworth T680/T880 – Standard Prewire vs. Display Prewire
There are three variations of PeopleNet starting point with Kenworth T680/T880, depending on the age,
engine, and sales code.
If you are unsure which version you have, open the top-center overhead compartment and verify whether
there is a PMG present and, if so, whether it has a PMG Auxiliary Cable connected to the larger port.
The variations are:
1. Display Prewire, including PMG (with Antenna, Power, Engine Data) and display Power and RS422
Communications connectors
1.1. The PMG is in the over-head compartment and has a cable on the large connector
1.2. On these vehicles, the field portion of the install will involve mounting the display and
connecting to the display power/communications cables at the passenger’s foot area
1.3. See pages 5-8
2. Standard Prewire, including PMG (with Antenna, Power, Engine Data) but no Display connections
2.1. The PMG is in the over-head compartment but has a cap rather than a cable in the large
connector
2.2. On these vehicles, the field portion of the install will involve mounting the display, connecting
display power, and routing the display communications cable up to the PMG
2.3. See Page 5-7 and 9-11
3. No PMG hardware
3.1. Refer to the “Kenworth T680 Standard Field Installation Guide”

Kenworth T680/T880 - Special Parts Recommendations
T680s can be installed using only the standard parts, but a cleaner install requires purchase of a display mount and,
in Standard Prewire and Full Field Installs, power connectors. Note that the plate and pins are not PeopleNet parts.
All Installs Standard Prewire and Full Field Installs Only
RAM T680 Display Mount Power Connector Option 1 – Pins Only
RAM Part RAM-202U-PE05 TE Connectivity Part 1-968851-1
This bracket replaces the right-hand dash panel, giving the
display a sturdy base, providing a position for the PMG to mount, and saving the vehicle panel from damage. The part is available
directly from RAM Mounts. www.rammounts.com
This pin crimps to the PeopleNet Power Assembly, allowing
direct connect to the vehicle power spares. The alternative is to cut and splice existing vehicle wires. The pins are available
online by searching on the pin part number.
Power Connector Option 2 - Assembly
PeopleNet Part L-016-0537 (labeled for Cascadia)
This assembly includes the same pins as above, but they are already crimped to power leads. These are available from
PeopleNet.

Kenworth T680/T880 – Display Option 1
This mount uses the RAM RAM-202U-PE05 plate as a base.

Kenworth T680/T880 – Display Option 2
This mount uses the same location as Option 1, but without adding the RAM plate. Because the mount is to
plastic, there is some risk of breakage as the plastic ages.

Kenworth T680/T880 – Display Option 3
This mount attaches to the side of the dash in cases when the dash panels are already occupied.

Complete PreWire Cable Installation
In vehicles with a complete Factory Prewire, the only field install tasks are to mount the display and connect
the display Power and RS422 Communications cables.
Follow these instructions for the cable connections and refer to the display mount options below.

Standard Prewire Cable Installation
Vehicles with the Standard Prewire, consisting of a PMG, Antenna, and PMG Power Connections without a
display cable, will require the display mounting above plus adding Display Power connections and
connecting the display to the PMG.

Standard Prewire Power Connections
Connect to the splice blocks using the pins indicated above. If no pins are available, you can connect by 3-
way splicing to the largest wires coming from each block.
The BATT block is fed by vehicle fuse position K15 (MISC LOW CURR) and the Ignition block is fed by fuse
position M7 (SPLICE FEED, IGN)
Connect the display 2-Pin Power/Ground cable to the PeopleNet Power Assembly
