Changes to Reporting on Report Cards This semester s report cards will consist of grades for each Learning Area and grades for effort—for each learning area. Please note that comments will not be included. More detailed and personal information, about your child s progress and be- haviour, can be achieved via a parent-teacher in- terview. You will, however, receive a handout that shows you what each year level (P-6) covered, in each of the eight learning areas, for terms three and four, based on the Australian Curriculum. Christmas Concert It s that time of the year again, when we show off some talented students, present some prizes and books and some Citizens trophies. Come along and see your child and their class, getting in to the spirit of Christmas. The P&C has kindly offered to cater for the morning lunch and might even bring over a jumping castle, if the weather is fine. Thank you, to the P&C, for another valuable contribution to the school. Visit by the Mayor, Cr. Milligan It was lovely to meet with Tanya Milligan on Monday morning and even nicer, that she took the time to say hello to the students. The meeting enabled me to keep up to date with what the Council is up to, especially during this time of bushfire threats. Farewell Pre-Preps Thank you, to those parents who brought along their child for our annual pre-prep program. Thank you, to Mrs Heath and Mrs Brockhurst for organising and running these very important ses- sions, that enables these youngsters to assimilate with a school context and to get an insight into what things will be like in 2020. The time is almost upon us when we must fare- well our year 6 students as they progress to their next level of education. Some of you have been with us since prep class and we have had the pleasure of watching you grow physically, emotionally and mentally. The pur- pose of primary school education is to prepare you for your future. Engaging your brain in varied subjects allows you to get a taste of some options in life you may wish to pursue in high school and beyond. Even the subjects you disliked, had a purpose in preparing you for study and research, which will help you to nav- igate your way through the educational system and then on to a career. A fascinating part of working in primary school is to talk to past students and find out how they are going. Whether they have just sat their year 12 exams, finished high school, have a job or are continuing their studies they all seem to be positive about their future. A lot have their license which really astonishes me, as it seems just the other day they were graduating year 6. The staff here will be wishing and praying for a bright and successful future for all of you, well done and all the best. Quotes If at first you don t succeed, try, try again. Mistakes form the foundation of the most suc- cessful people in the world. Your attitude to what life throws at you, deter- mines your level of contentment and happi- ness.
