TRANSCRIPT
Resolutions In his book A Journey to Bethlehem, Jason Soroski offers the
following definitions of resolution:
Resolution. Webster defines the word as being "marked by firm determination." The word dominates every New Year's Eve. To the musician, a "resolution" is a harmony line moving from a dissonant tone (one that does not fit the melody) to a consonant tone (one that fits). Harmonies can dance and amaze us with varied complexities for a while, but they must eventually resolve. To the writer, a resolution is the end of a story, the final element of a twisting plot wrought with conflict, finally resolved to an ending where all is well. To the chemist, it is the separation of a chemical compound back into its constituents, or simplest parts. To the statesman, it is an expression of the determined will of an elected body. To the graphic artist, it is the sharpness of the pixel count on a screen, and the quality of the image produced. By any definition, a Resolution is characterized by a return to simplicity, a focus on sharp definition and determination, broken down to its simplest, most harmonious parts. Without resolution, art, science, government, and life in general all fall into chaos. Without resolution, there is no foundation on which to stand.
As we begin the New Year, let us think about the simplest ways
we can return to God and make that a part of our New Year

Edwards Family—Taiwan— Cole, a Jr. in Hi School, went to the Philippines for a week-long mission trip in the slums of Manila. Cole experienced extreme poverty conditions and the working of God’s Spirit in a way he had never experienced before. Read about one of his days on the Mission Board. Allyson has gone home to Taiwan for the Christmas break from Ozark CC. Caitlyn will be spending that time with family in the States. Please continue to pray for our team—for vision and unity as we head into the New Year. Sanchez Family—Manzanillo, Mexico— The caravans. You maybe have heard about them. We were in Mexico City when they first arrived there. As far as we can tell, no one from the congregation in Honduras joined. Yet the financial situation has gotten desperate. We know the desperate situation in Honduras. We lived there in 2004. We have kept in contact with our friends there since. We have committed to send funds to help pay a preacher so they can use their money to purchase property for a building. Since the surgery expenses have been met, we once again are able to meet this commitment. We don’t have the complete results of Isaac’s testing yet. Shiloh— This past summer at camp, there was a young girl who is a diabetic. Her alarm would go off each night to remind her to take her medicine. She would sometimes sleep through her alarm. Shiloh’s Abigail, one of the sweetest kids we’ve ever had here, slept near her. Abigail could hear the alarm so she would wake up the girl to take her medicine. Abigail inconvenienced herself to provide care for another, making a big difference in someone ’s life. Thank you for helping Shiloh care for Abigail and others. Jay Craig The Willing Workers sent 8 quilts and $5.00 individual gifts to the youth at Shiloh’s Clarence site. Show Me— The Christmas cards designed by their children are on the Mission Board. Also a couple of ornaments they have made. Central Christian College of the Bible – The Bible is a required textbook for many of our courses. This year we started a pilot program to send each new student their very own leather NASB Bible. A family covered the cost with a memorial gift in memory of a loved one. We mailed the Bibles with personal notes and their names written in it. When the fall semester began, it was great to see the new students carrying their Bibles around campus. They agreed receiving the Bibles in advance made them feel welcome at Central and more interested in learning when they arrived. David Fincher, Pres. “May the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with all of you. (2 Thess. 3:16) Ozark Christian College – OCC recently turned 75, and with age can come a fading memory. But at OCC we still remember who we are: a Bible College. I’ve described what we do with the acronym BRAND—a Biblical, Relational, Affordable, National, Doable education. We teach God’s Word in a Christ-centered community for an affordable price at a doable pace, and we want to do it so well that we are nationally known. That’s our brand. We know who we are. Matt Proctor, President OCC’s annual report is on the Mission Board. CMCE—Once again in January, KRCC will be hosting this monthly meeting of our church-planting group. The new church plant in Dexter has been running around 70 attendees and has had a couple of baptisms since launching in September. The minister is also preaching at a new church plant in Poplar Bluff. Christian Campus House – On December 15, Lance and a group of 25 students from CCH went to Barbados to labor with the Windward Islands School of Evangelism. This is the 9th visit to help the Caribbean Bible College with facilities improvement and ministry partnership. Six days later he will take a group of 40 to Israel for a first ever CCH trip to the Holy Land. The eleven-day trip will take them to many Biblical sites as well as places where social and political views will be heard. Missouri Christian Convention –March 22-23, 2019 at Tan-Tar-A Resort, Lake of the Ozarks. Seth Wortman of Springfield, MO, and Tom Claibourne of Winchester, OH, will be the main speakers.
