Scripts must be submitted to the Kennedy Center by November 1, 2006. Entries are accepted all year.

LORRAINE HANSBERRY AWARD

Best original play written by student(s) of African heritage on or about African culture here in America or abroad.

Eligibility Requirements Definition

Could be a translation, collaboration, adaptation,company written by two or more persons.

Could be based on factual material Full-length play

A major work, or two or more short thematic works, that make an event of 90 minutes or longer.

One-Act or Short Play Any length; 15+ pages.

3 copies of script to Kennedy Center An entry form must be attached to each copy of the script.

150-word synopsis Included as cover page with entry forms/scripts to Kennedy Center.

Additional copy of script sent to Regional

NPP chair 30 days prior to production opening
