Divide evenly on 3 needles and join, being careful not totwist sts. Mark for beg of rnd with pin and carry marker up. Work even in k1, p1ribbing for 2½”. Change to St st (k EVERY rnd) and work even for 4 rnds.Next Rnd: K6, place marker, M1k, k to last 6 sts, M1k, place marker, k6 – 38 sts.Following Rnd: Knit. In this manner, inc 1 st after 1st marker and before 2nd markerevery other rnd 5 times more – 48 sts.Divide for Thumb: Next Rnd: K6, M1k, drop marker, sl next 18 sts onto one holder,then sl next 18 sts onto second holder, k6 – 13 sts.
