1. After your stay at Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest, hitthe road and drive along Andrássy út, the HungarianChamps Elysees, enjoying views of the Opera House,Heroes Square, the City Park and Széchenyi Bath. Next,drive onto M3 and merge onto M0 towards E77 Slovakia.

2. Take Exit 71 toward E77 / M2 towards Slovakia.

3. Enter Slovakia, then continue on Route 66 / E77.

4. Change to Road 51 towards Banska Stiavnica. On thisroad, you will find Chateu Saint Anton, a 15th-centurybaroque manor, and its English Garden, and later on you’llfind Banska Stiavnica, which is an old historical town andUNESCO Heritage site.

5. Continue to Zvolen and visit Zvolen Castle, which is amedieval, well-preserved, gothic castle located on a hill inthe centre of Zvolen. Louis I of Hungary built ZvolenCastle in 1382 as his hunting castle.

6. Leave Zvolen, continue on Route 66 / E77 and drivethrough Banska Bystrica. After leaving Banska Bystrica,you will enter Low Tatras National Park with breathtakingviews especially in the autumn and winter months. Stop atDonovaly, the famous Slovakian ski paradise and

mountain pass on 960 m (3,149.6 ft) above sea level, and enjoy the view of the surrounding peaks.

7. Continue on Route 66 / E77. Just a stone’s throw beforeRuzomberok, there is a picturesque village calledVlkolinec, which is another UNESCO World Heritage site.It shows the traditional architecture and lifestyle of 19th-century Slovakians. It is a remarkably intact settlementwith the traditional features of a central European village.It is the region’s most complete group of these kinds oftraditional log houses, often found in mountainous areas.

8. Enter Ruzomberok and continue towards Tatranska Cestaon Route 18, then follow the E50 Highway. On thishighway, you can enjoy views of Liptovska Mara, which isthe largest reservoir of Slovakia, which lies at the foot ofthe High Tatras Mountains. It is often called the “SlovakianSea”.

9. Take the Vazec exit for Route 18, and from Route 18, turnleft to Horská.

10.  Continue onto Route 538, turn right onto Route 537, thenturn left to Szentiványho and follow the signs to StrbskePleso and Grand Hotel Kempinski High Tatras.
