Test distance for general lighting service (GLS)
The hazard values should be reported as either irradiance or radiance values
at a distance which produces an illuminance of 500 lux, but not at a distance
less than 200mm
Test distance for non general lighting service (Non-GLS)
The hazard values should be reported as either irradiance or radiance values
at a distance of 200mm

Photobiological Standards – IEC / TR 62471-2
Guidelines for lamp and lamps system manufacturers
In case of a luminaire without modifying optics and using one single lamp
the risk assessment of the lamp manufacturer is transferable to the final
lamp system or luminaire resulting in the same or a reduced risk.
Otherwise the lamp system (luminaire) manufacturer should perform the
re-assessment and assign the appropriate risk group.
