unaware but there is in fact a huskycareerlink that can be accessed through the career service webpage. Students use their NetID to login and the program has lists of hundreds of employers who are interested in Uconn students and graduates for job positions, all you need to do is apply.“We try to have a variety of opportunities, there

are at least 2 internships for each major tailored to specific jobs. At career services we have traditional journalism for newspapers, TV and Radio and non-traditional opportunities like blogs and online, for journalism it’s pretty wide open,” Michael Petro said

Journalism Internships• The journalism program is special, where it

has it’s own internships through the journalism dept. The contact is Maureen Croteau and applications to apply for an internship in spring are due by Friday Oct. 12th so don’t wait.Opportunities include major businesses like: Time Magazine, The Boston Globe, Fox CT, Patch, NBC4, The Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles Times, National Geographic Traveler, Discover Magazine, NBC 30 and the Bostonchannel.com

“Regardless of what internship or company you interview for we kind of give general advice, know what your interview is for, if it’s a specific beat or say a field producer than you need to know exactly what that job entails and the people in that company. You also need to know your resume inside out. Go in well prepared and know yourself and experiences. Be polished and prepared and you will do well,” Petro said, for interview tips.
