ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Kelli Fox, The Astrologer
Kelli was first drawn to astrology during her childhood in Sydney, Australia. As early as eight years of age, she began recording birth dates and sun signs for anyone willing to share. Kelli's formal astrological studies began at the College of Humanistic Astrology. This led to her professional accreditation with multiple organizations including: CA NCGR IV (National Council for Geocosmic Research), PMAFA (Professional Member of the American Federation of Astrologers), ISAR C.A.P. (International Society for Astrological Research), and the FAA (Federation of Australian Astrologers).
In 1995 Kelli created astrology.com where she continued to live her passion until 2003. After taking a couple of years out to be with her family, she began work on new content and services including mobile phone apps, video horoscopes and forecasts.
Kelli was the first member of the Founders' Circle of Kepler College: http://www.kepler.edu/ and is an emeritus member of its Board of Trustees. (Kepler College is the first college in the western hemisphere authorized to issue BA, AA and MA degrees in Astrological Studies.)
Kelli views astrology as a universal language through which the unique elements that make each of us who we are can be discussed, understood and developed. For Kelli, astrology is certainly not just about entertainment, but that doesn't mean it has to be dry and academic either. She sees her role as
bringing this ancient science to our modern day life through current technologies -‐ from web sites to mobile phones and video screens.
In 2004, with Neptune on her descendant and transiting Pluto conjunct her natal Moon, she had a near death medical experience that left her in a coma and on life support for two weeks. Kelli was fortunate to survive and return from the other side. With new found life, her passion to share the knowledge of astrology with people everywhere was re-‐ignited.
Kelli is a prolific content creator having brought forth over two million words for The Astrologer -‐ the equivalent of 20 novels. In addition she records over 400 astrological video segments every month, from daily horoscopes and planetary updates, to annual forecasts and compatibility reports.

FORWARD: AN INTRODUCTION TO ASTROLOGY
Although lots of people talk about astrology as if it's something of doubtful or supernatural origin, like magic or ghosts -‐-‐ 'Do you believe in astrology?'-‐-‐ it's not a belief system, and it's definitely not a supernatural phenomenon. It's actually a very ancient and complex system based on careful observation of the heavens and related circumstances here on earth.
To understand astrology, you must know that it doesn't work like a psychic, who predicts your future. Astrology is an invaluable guide that helps in making life choices. It points out tendencies and truths about human nature, not to mention the world at large. It gives you the tools you need to make better, more intelligent and informed decisions in your life. For example, if you have a lot of planets in Aries in your birth chart, you'll know that you tend to be rather headstrong and impulsive, jumping into things without much forethought! With astrology's help, you can learn to slow down a bit and look before you leap.
Anyone can gain greater personal understanding from astrology, even without knowing exactly how it works. After all, why the movement of the stars is related to life on Earth may be an intriguing and mysterious question, but we know that it is, indeed, related -‐-‐ astrology affects our lives just as the moon pulls on the tides and just as the light of the sun enables all life on Earth to grow. As the sun enriches the Earth, astrology can enrich your life. The more you learn, the better you'll be able to apply its wisdom to your own life.
Love and Romance Highlights
Powerful Pluto continues to transform your love life. Taking up long-‐term residence in your 7th House of Partnership, it’s galvanizing a new definition of what you need in a relationship. If you are single, you’re less interested in superficialities and more focused on a real meeting of hearts and minds. If you are coupled, this period signals a deepening of your connection or an end to a relationship that doesn’t truly serve you.
In February, dreamy Neptune ends its 14-‐year trip through your 8th House of Intimacy. It’s been a time of heart-‐opening compassion and potentially blurred boundaries. Your visions for relationships should become clearer over the next two-‐plus years.
Beginning in October serious Saturn moves into your 5th House of Romance. This period shows you the value of being realistic when it comes to love. It’s also a time where you see how being authentic in expressing yourself can pay off in spades. The November 13th Solar Eclipses lights up your love life. A chance encounter could have you meeting a new mate. If you already have a significant other, it’s a time to begin a fresh phase in your relationship. It also ushers in a six-‐ month period of infusing your life with more playfulness.
Assertive Mars travels through your relationship sector from November 16th through December 25th. You’ll have the stamina to work through the kinks in a relationship. Infusing it with more passion may help to take it to the next level.
Career and Money Highlights
Electric Uranus continues to revolutionize your career path. How you want to spend your proverbial 9-‐to-‐5 may seem a lot different now than it did a year or two ago. While sudden shifts in direction may feel unsettling, have faith -‐ -‐ you’re in a process of reinventing yourself.
The Lunar Eclipse on June 4th illuminates the negative impacts that self-‐doubt has on your performance at work. Let go of those undermining messages and have the confidence that you can excel. Powerful Pluto squaring Uranus on June 24th and September 19th unearths power dynamics at the workplace. Forging new relationships with colleagues may be key for galvanizing future career opportunities.
From November 6th through the 14th, reconsider the approach you’ve taken with a work project. See if there is a way to tweak it to communicate your message. The Lunar Eclipse on November 28th helps you clarify how to work smarter. If you’re feeling energetically drained, the solution may lie in making slight shifts in your routines.
For the past 14 years while dreamy Neptune swam in your 8th House of Togetherness, boundaries around shared resources became blurry. As it leaves this sector in February, you gain a greater clarity about how to process with joint investments.
Hold off making important financial decisions July 14th through August 8th. This is when messenger Mercury will be retrograde in your 2nd House of Resources. It’s a better time to re-‐evaluate your current fiscal plan than to set a new one in motion.

January
Welcome to 2012, Cancer. During the first week of January your attention is turned to the bigger picture. It’s a great time to contribute to the world, applying your personal experiences to make things better for other people.
On the 8th, communicative Mercury moves into your 7th House of Relationships. Over the next three weeks, you may find yourself wanting to talk more with your friends as well as your partner. If you feel especially moody on the 9th, you’re not alone. It’s a Full Moon, a monthly event where everyone gets a bit more emotionally stressed. For you, the tension may come from a sense that you are giving too much to others and want someone to tend to your needs.
Venus, the planet of beauty, moves into Pisces, another water sign, on the 14th. For the next three weeks, exploring the meaning of love or surrounding yourself with art should feel especially nurturing. On the 20th, your fascination turns to secrets, mysteries and wanting to discover hidden truths.
This month’s New Moon occurs on the 23rd in your 8th House of Intimacy. It provides you an opportunity to break through obstacles that have been separating you and your partner. If you’re single, it could signal the initiation of a new close relationship. Also on the 23rd, assertive Mars goes retrograde. People around you seem scattered and dialogue may not go in the direction you intended.
On the 28th, you can find the words to express feelings about something very important to you.
February
The first week of February you can find insights of wisdom wherever you look. That's because intuitive Neptune travels into your 9th House of Knowledge on the 3rd. Emotions are in high gear on the 7th when the Full Moon arrives. Be careful that conversations with a loved one don't undermine your sense of self-‐value. You can sidestep this if you see their point of view while at the same time trusting your instincts. Also, on the 7th Saturn goes retrograde in your 4th House of Family. Through the end of June, strengthening relationships with select family members takes on a sense of priority. That being said, it may be a rocky road. Go slow, be diligent and don't cut corners when it comes to maintaining your sense of feeling nurtured.
SECTION 4: LOVE AND ROMANCE
We've all heard the theory that you can't truly love someone until you love yourself. It's also safe to say that you can't really know another person until you know yourself. Your Sun sign provides insight not only into your personality, but what kind of lover you make -‐-‐ and what kind you need.
The Sun rules your basic personality, the person you are at your core, when all else -‐-‐ including insecurities, hang-‐ups and other hindrances -‐-‐ is stripped away. The Sun lights the fire inside you; it's the energy that burns within. In short, it's the real you.
Cancer/Gemini
Overview: The only way this can work is if you share other planets in common, because you have such different natures. Cancer, you deserve that homebody reputation, and Gemini, you do love to socialize. You're only comfortable when you're busy and on the go, while Cancer can be quite focused, even hermitic. You just have different aims: Cancer wants security and Gemini craves freedom. But you are both thinkers and can have great conversations.
Dating: An ideal date for you two? Hmm ... is there one? To have fun together, you'll both need to stay open to something new and different, which is easier for Gemini than for Cancer. You're both quite creative, so try something unusual but not too outrageous – a take-‐out picnic on your rooftop, maybe. Gemini could get bored easily here, though. Cancer really is domestic and happiest at home, while spontaneous Gemini wants to go out and eat up the town.
Marriage: For you two to even discuss your future together, you definitely have shared planets in your charts and you've worked out the kinks, which are many. First of all, to make this really work, Cancer, you have to give Gemini freedom, because the Twins love to get around. This will be the hardest issue for you. Gemini, you must realize that Cancer is genuinely happy at home and doesn't need to be out all the time, meeting new people.
Passion: Gemini is willing to try anything once, and that includes Cancer; Cancer, you're just willing to try to make it work. No-‐strings-‐attached passionate play might be the only way to go here, because something more permanent or serious just isn't likely to happen. Cancer's looking for long-‐term commitment, but casual Gemini is just looking for the next thrill. On the other hand, a quick thrill might be just the thing; hey, we're all human, after all ...

Lindsay Lohan: July 2nd 1986
Former child model, actress and singer Lindsay Lohan has been in the public eye nearly all her life. Whether she's doing a Jello commercial with Bill Cosby, acting in such films as The Parent Trap and Freaky Friday, or living with tabloid notoriety, there's something about her that grabs the public's attention. Both communication planet Mercury and attraction planet Venus are in sunny, stage-‐happy Leo. There's something very warm, confident, and “look at me!” about the way she moves through life.
All that Leo energy may distract us from her Cancer Sun, which is a different story altogether! Cancer can be very career-‐oriented, but this placement also makes her sensitive and vulnerable at heart. Vulnerability makes a person easy to like and relate to, which adds even more to her popularity -‐ but at the same time it makes that much popularity hard to bear. She has long had a fascination with Marilyn Monroe, who struggled between a need for attention and approval, and fierce privacy. Stardom could be a terrible burden in Marilyn's day, and it seems it hasn't exactly gotten easier since then!
Her Cancer Sun makes a harmonious trine to Pluto in Scorpio. Because it takes many years for Pluto to move through each zodiac sign it is seen as a generational planet -‐ and in that light can reflect public opinion. Lindsay, while widely viewed, has been especially popular with her own age group. Pluto is in its own sign, Scorpio, making its energies even darker and more potentially dangerous. Goth fashion, with its emphasis on dour expressions and heavy black makeup, exemplifies this energy. On the set of Freaky Friday, Ms. Lohan suggested her character have Goth leanings, to make the film
more accessible to people her age. The film also gave her the opportunity to showcase her musical ability. Both strategies worked: the film did spectacularly well, and she won an MTV award for “Best Breakthrough Performance.”
A supportive trine between her Leo Mercury and Saturn in Sagittarius show that she can work hard and put in some very long hours. This has served her well, but needs to be kept within bounds. Her line of work is quite stressful, and the Cancer Sun needs regular time-‐outs in order to handle the pressure. These different combinations must work together, or emotional and health problems can result.
To make matters worse, Mercury forms a stressful square to Pluto, which can make her prone to destructive behavior, bad press and even troubles with the law. That protective Sun-‐Pluto trine helps her keep in people's good graces but it can only shield her from so much.
Cancer rules emotions, family, and nurturing. When this sensitive, expressive lady balances her public and private lives, she rules her world, and some of ours. Self-‐care is and will be key to her success.
