REFLECTIONIn the process of my research I learned that Captain Cook docked here on his first trip to Hawaii Island. I also learned that Kealakekua means path way of the gods. Another interesting thing I found out is that today the bay is a Marine Life Conservation District. On the shore of the bay Captain Cook died in a fight with the natives. This was an important place for the native Hawaiians because on one side of the bay is where Hikiau Heiau was located. It is also where the first western arrived on Hawaii Island.

I sailed there!
