The reasonable man adapts himself to the
world; the unreasonable one persists in trying
to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all
progress depends on the unreasonable.

Scientists, therefore, are used to dealing with doubtand uncertainty. All scientific knowledge is uncertain. This experience with doubt and uncertainty isimportant. I believe that it is of very great value, andone that extends beyond the sciences.
I believe that to solve any problem that has never beensolved before, you have to leave the door to the
unknown ajar. You have to permit the possibility thatyou do not have it exactly right. Otherwise, if you havemade up your mind already, you might not solve it.

2] USoil consumption: 25%or 1/4thof the worlds oilextracted out of the ground.
3] Global Standards of Living are conserved because Earth is
a closed system. US Standard of Living [SoL] is fueled by theglobal availability of oil. If the rest of the worldled by China &Indiatried to achieve our SoL there would have to be morethan 5 more Earthsworth of oil to do it. Conversely, maintenance of US SoL impoverishes the world.

Why do anything?
1] Reverse decline.Convert the thermal hydrocarboneconomy to a real alternative & clean up pollution.
2] More.Make more electricity & money than is
possible under the thermal hydrocarbon paradigm.
3] Jobs.Vastly increase job opportunities in the
private sector by increasing energy mobility.

What can we do?
1] Innovate. We must innovate an alternative to oilthat outperforms it.
2] Fact. The renewable alternativesincluding
thermal nuclearperform only 1/25thas well as oil.
3] New idea. The only viable alternative to oil is a
new way of conceptualizing nuclear resources.

17/64
What can we do?
4] Why. Thermal nuclear performs worse thanthermal coal electricity generation.
5] Fact. 1/560thof the nuclear resources is wasted.
6] New idea. Convert the other 559/560ths of thenuclear resources while generating more electricity
directly from the nuclear interactions themselves.

What can we do?
7] How. Mimic what Earth has been doing for 4.5billion years & harvest electricity by induction.
8] Fact. Earths magnetic field is the only remaining
viable one of the rocky planets in the solar system.
9] New idea. Figure out why Earth is unique & we
figure out how to make a new nuclear technology.

Why is Earth unique?
1] Why. Because it accumulated the lions share ofnuclear elements during formation.
2] Fact. Every nuclear interaction produces a
strange magnetic package.
3] New idea. This is unconventionally magnetizing
the interior materials.

Why is Earth unique?
4] How. More than half of Earths interior heat comesfrom nuclear interactions which drives its motions.
5] Fact. The Principles of Self-Organization, Least
Action & Nature Abhors a Gradient are at work.
6] New idea. This outlandish idea does not violate
the 2ndLawit validates it.

Can we mimic it?
1] Why. If you think of Earth as the rotating magnetin a generator this would be our new technique.
2] Fact. The interior motions are organizing Earths
unconventional magnetism into a magnetic field.
3] New idea. Use this as the model for a new fully-
scalable nuclear electricity generation technology.

33/64
Can we mimic it?
4] How. Make a mechanical architecture that isdynamic and produces a spheroidal magnetic field.
5] Fact. The Fleming Right Hand Rule is the key.
6] New idea. Think in terms of thermal and densitygradients interchangeability & apply stratigraphy.

If we look at the interior twothings should be noted:
1] Temperature gradients self-organize into discreteshells.
2] Density gradients self-organizeinto discrete shellsas well. Densitycould be thought of as materialqualities related to viscosity: liquidas stiff to solid & pressure.

How might we make amechanical device that mimics
Side-to-Side accretion? All weneed do is think of a sphere with3 axes of rotation 90to eachother: x, y, z.Then shells could
be rotated with eachsuccessively smaller shellmimicking greater density byincreasing thickness

We need to think beyond heat. We need to movebeyond burning upor blowing up for that matter
things to accomplish useful work in our societies.
The mess associated with thermal nuclear power mustbe cleaned up. This technology will end contributing to
that nightmare & can be used for its cleanup.
Lets together take the first step forward.

Let me end by telling you a little story. Boeing & Airbusare imagining the future 2050. They both say we have to
pursue biofuels for the futureand we dobut they
both show planes harvesting biochemoelectromagnet-
ism from passengers to augment the power systems ofthe plane of the future. They dont show the propulsors.
They say we cant make an all-electric plane, can we?Theyre being too cute by more than half.

Its a duck.
Theyve already designed the all-electric plane of the
future. They just have no idea how to power it.
Now they can. Twoone primary & one backup
magnetoelectricity generators driven by nuclearelements will power their plane designs. Along with awhole host of other applications. We just need to prove
& build it.

I sound pretty certain of myself, dont I?
You might be asking yourself, didnt he start out with a
Dick Feynman quote about uncertainty?
Yes, I did. But you will not find a more committed man
to ideas than Dick. As you wont with me either .For, while we mean what we say & we can be heldaccountable for what we say, we are not stuck with
what we say.

Please dont confuse confidence with certainty.Dick &I are confident & humble at the same time in the
way that the following quote captures.

changes. ... weigh decisions with a supple mind and be
comfortable with nuance and uncertainty.Craig Mullaney
