ABOUT US

AMAZON DASH

What are the opportunities of this technology?

Particularly interesting about connected buttons is the lack of choice. For instance, the user does not look on Amazon for “razor blades” and might be lured away to a different brand but rather with the button, will only reorder their brand.

Can it help me increase my revenue/decrease cost? Connected buttons can be used as part of processes to alert employees and/or allow customers to place orders. For instance, it could be used in the hospitality industry to request room cleaning or checkout service. Therefore, it decreases cost by streamlining processes.

On the revenue generation side, it easies the ordering process and therefore can increase orders for a particular product and through minimizing customer churn, have a positive effect on the bottom-line.

What use cases are you seeing for it?

In direct-to-consumer setting, a brand can follow Amazon’s use case of reordering often used products.

For a process setting, employees can for instance notify experts that either help is required or that a certain process has been completed.

GOOGLE CARDBOARD

What are the opportunities of this technology?

Google Cardboard offers the cheapest and easiest way for consumers to experience virtual reality. This enables brands to give the device as a give-away as part of a marketing campaign. Through small modifications, the device also enables users to experience augmented reality using the smartph0ne’s camera.

Can it help me increase my revenue/decrease cost?

Virtual Reality can be used in training use cases, for instance complex fire drills that are costly to simulate in real life therefore offering cost saving potentially.

Since the device creates an immersive experience, it can be used to explain complex tools/products/services in virtual reality thereby enabling sales staff to more efficiently communicate the benefits to ultimate increase revenue.

What use cases are you seeing for it?

Externally facing, it allows you to explain a complex product, for instance a software concept to a customer easily by letting the customer explore it in a three dimensional world.

McDonald’s for instance is piloting a VR training system for counter staff and simulates high demand situations as well as exceptional situations to prepare employees.

JAGUAR LAND ROVER CONNECTED CARWhat are the opportunities of this technology?

Jaguar Land Rover’s (JLR) connected car platform allows third parties to allow their apps to be streamed to the car’s dashboard thereby offering their customers a seamless experience across multiple environments. In addition, JLR offers third parties the possibility to request in-car data (CAN BUS) and use these within the app.

Can it help me increase my revenue/decrease cost? Assuming that most companies do not equip their employees with JLR company cars, the opportunity is very much revenue focused. In particular, the possibility to take in-car data into account allows companies to connect an even richer data set and thereby potentially up-sell further features of their offerings.

What use cases are you seeing for it?

For instance an insurance company could use the in-car data to allow users to buy an hourly based car insurance for non-insured drivers with the tap of a button since the vehicle data can be read by the app automatically. The scanning of the driver’s license could easily be done via machine vision and allows for a seamless work flow.

For a payments provider, this could be an interesting opportunity to explore in-car payments, for instance in commercial car parks or services (car cleaning, maintenance, etc.).
