red shows that danger is present and also represents blood and evil, its implying violence and harm.

The poster I chose to analyse is Sinister because it’s a simple poster but still really effective, quite a bring mise-en-scene and sticks to 3 vital colours grey red and white to help cause effect. The black title in the middle stands out more from the grey drawing attention to it and it doesn’t draw your focus away from the picture. The writing is running down the wall which makes it look as if its been wrote in something or is glowing.

Child female victim, which makes the audience think about her being possessed being unable to see her face makes the audience focus on the blood that she’s dragging along the wall, and it also makes the audience wonder why you cant actually see her face and what's being hidden by being unable to see.

‘once you see him, nothing can save you.’ is wrote in black which helps it to stand out from the grey background. Its placed under the title so it’s the next thing that the audience read after reading the title. It gives a scene of what happens in the film with out giving to much away which draw the audience in and makes them what to see it.

The bottom of the poster indicates the realise date but by saying ‘coming soon’ is making the poster look like a teaser poster because it doesn’t actually show the realise date. By not showing the date it makes the audience try and find the date out due to being interested and eager.

Putting the producers on top means that if any of the audience have seen paranormal activity or insidious and enjoyed them then they will go and see sinister because they will want to see if it is as good, and they know that they like that kind of horror.

The poster for house at the end of the street is quite a basic poster but still if very effective. The mise-en-scene is dark but in other places it light to show the bits on the poster which are most important and intriguing. There's a stereo typical pouting girl which shows that it’s a horror film where the girl is greatly involved and the bad things happen to her.

Putting on the poster that look magazine said its ‘deeply scary with an awesome twist’ will make the audience want to know what the twist is and get them thinking about what it could be.

Having the actors at the top of the poster is a selling point. If the audience have seen the actors in other films and liked them in the other films then they will go and see the film too see the actor.

The yellow title stands out a bit from the rest of the black background and having the title wonky and look scratched makes the audience wonder why its wonky and why its been scratched. Having the title in the bottom right corner doesn’t draw the attention away from the rest of the poster so you look at the poster then read it before you read the title.

Being able to see the person looking into the window in the background gets the audience thinking about why there's someone looking through the window and want to go and see the film to see what happens when they look through the window.

I chose to analyse this poster because it doesn’t show to much in the poster but is still really intriguing and as it has Daniel Radcliffe staring it in then it gets harry potter fans to want to see the film.

The mise-en-scene is dark and misty but brightens up on the most important features, this helps cause a spooky and scary effect. It also shows that something dangerous is going to happen.

The tag line ‘fear her curse’ makes the audience reading the poster want to know what her curse is and what will happen if someone gets cursed.

Big house in the background makes you wonder why its so far back and why it looks so old, it also makes you wonder why the house is included into the film.

The title stands out from the background and looks as it’s supposed to be glowing.

Being able to see someone standing in the background next to a grave stone makes you wonder why there standing in a grave yard and what the figure is. Not being able to see the face on the figure makes the audience think about why this is being kept hidden.

I chose to analyse this poster because my the hand coming out of the girls mouth it instantly draws your attention to it but at the same time the poster doesn’t give to much away to spoil the rest of the film.

Having the tag line ‘based on a true story’ makes the audience want to see it and see what actually happened to see if it actually did happen and it also attempts to scare the audience into thinking it could happen to them so they don’t go by them selves and take someone with them to see it.

The title looks scratched which indicates that something has been scratching it and it makes the poster look old and worn out a bit.

The red realise date being wrote in red shows correlations of danger, blood and evil, as well as showing the audience when it actually comes out. Having it in red also makes it stand out from the rest of the poster

The hand looks dirty and all bruised and scabby which makes the audience wonder what happened to make the hand go like that. And it also makes you wonder to why its coming out of the girls mouth.

The other tag line ‘darkness lives inside’ makes you wonder what is meant by ‘inside’ and it also makes you wonder about who is possessed.

I chose to analyse this poster because it’s scary and straight away makes you wonder what the thing on the poster is and it also doesn’t reveal a lot making the audience want to go see it and see what happens.

Dark mise-en-scene but brightens up on the important points. The poster has quite a lot of red on, which shows signs of blood, danger and evil causing tension. Sticks to using mostly red colours and white.

The title is big but doesn’t draw you away from the rest of the poster. The tag line ‘the new face of fear’ makes wonder why the face doesn’t actually have facial features and just looks like a smiley face.

The idea of the blood dripping from the eyes and mouth implies that the face has just been cut in and left for the blood to just run down the face and drip.

Having the realise date tells the audience straight away when its out with out leaving them in suspense and having to find out them selves. Having it at the bottom also means you have to read the rest of the poster before finding out when it comes out.
