Talking About the Romans in Britain

Romulus and Remus

Romulus and Remus were twins Their wicked uncle wanted to be the king He ordered for the boys to be drowned in the

river A she wolf found them and looked after them. A shepherd found them and looked after

them. The boys killed their uncle They built a city. They had a fight Romulus won and killed his brother so the

city got called Rome.

Roman EmpireThe Empire started in

Rome.It spread over lots of

countries.The last country to be

invaded was Britain.

Colosseum

People fought there and people watched bloody fights. It is 3000 years old.

Roman Baths

The Romans had baths together. People believed the water would heal them.

Roman Soldier

The Roman soldiers wore helmets and they had shields.

They marched 20 miles every day.

They built walls like Antonine’s Wall

Tortoise FormationSoldiers went into the

tortoise for protection.

There were shields at the front, side and back.

It stopped them getting hit by arrows and spears.

It protects everybody.

Roman FoodThe rich Romans

had snails , steak ,peacocks tongues and flamingos brains.

Poor Romans had bread ,soup,porridge ,cheese and honey.
