National Educational Technology Standards for Teachers

The Maryland Technology Consortium has developed Maryland Teacher Technology Standards, technology outcomes and indicators that all teacher candidates will need to achieve prior to graduation.

Maryland Technology Standards

• Effective teachers model and apply the National Educational Technology Standards for Students as they design, implement and assess learning experiences to engage students and improve learning; enrich professional practice; and provide positive models for students, colleagues, and the community.

Maryland Technology StandardsStandard I: Technology Information Access,

Evaluation, Processing, Application. Allows students to efficiently retrieve, store and organize

information located by using technology.

Standard II: Communication Gives students multiple ways to communicate with their peers,

teachers, and parents.

Standard III: Legal, Social, Ethical issues Helps students understand the questionable practices that are

often used while using technology in the classroom.

Standard IV: Assessment for Administration and Instruction Uses spreadsheets, tables, and graphs to share their research with

others in their community.
