Wheelchair accessible car club vehicles• Britain’s first WAV in a car club provided by Bristol
Community Transport and Co-wheels in Bristol• BCT has been providing WAVs for 30 years but these are
only available through visiting the depot and collecting keys.
• Co-wheels online booking system makes the vehicle available in advance or up to 15 mins before use.
• Opportunities elsewhere for car clubs to work with CT providers?
Steve Bullock, a scheme member says “Wheelchair accessible vehicles have made a world of difference, it has enabled me to retain some independence and get to destinations that I could not on public transport, and using taxis would be too expensive.”
