Karma SoundLay is a high performance noise barrier mat, designed to help your project achieve part E Regulations. A separating concrete floor featuring Karma SoundLay will benefit from a significant reduction in impact noise transmission. The mats feature a high performance WB7.5 acoustic upper layer supported by a 6mm layer of Class “0” acoustic foam. The Class ‘0’ foam provides a uniform density throughout the product, making the mats more resistant to compression than similar products featuring a reconstituted chipfoam layer.

Karma SoundLay is supplied in standard sheet/tile sizes, making them easy to lay tightly together on the floor in a staggered pattern. The SoundLay sheets can be laid loose or bonded to the floor. When bonding to the floor use Regubond 100 adhesive and ensure that the surface is clean, dry, grease free and the flooring is secured before bonding. Karma SoundLay sheets can be pushed up to the skirting board or wall; ensure a tight fit to prevent flanking of airborne noise.
Karma SoundLayInstallation Advice
CarpetCarpets can be installed on top of Karma SoundLay using grippers or bonding. Contact Acoustec Noise Control for advice on the selection and fitting of grippers. When bonding, ensure the adhesive is suitable for polyurethane materials, as shrinkage may occur. When bonding carpet, it is recommended that Karma SoundLay sheets are first bonded to the floor, using Regubond 100 adhesive.
Laminate*Where a wooden laminated floor finish is being used, it is recommended that a layer of 12mm T+G plywood is bonded to the Karma SoundLay first, using Regubond 100 adhesive.
VinylWhere vinyl floor coverings are to be used, it is recommended that a layer of 12mm T+G plywood is bonded to the Karma SoundLay first, using Regubond 100 adhesive. For installations and applications not listed, please contact Acoustec Noise Control for guidance.
