What’s For Lunch is a food guide for new Vanier students. This guide tells you about the three main cafeterias and where they are located in the school. We had to write and illustrate the content ourselves. This project helped me improve my skills in Adobe Illustrator and creative writing.

For this project, my class had the opportunity to create covers for a series of four textbooks for the Business Program in Vani-er. In order to simplify the process, we were put into groups where each one of us created one cover, I designed the cover for the Accident and Sickness textbook. Since we worked as a team, the challenge was to create unity across all four covers. To achieve this, we used the same font, the same mood, and the same dimensions. For the Accident and Sickness cover, the doorway was made into hospital symbol and there was a person in crutches for the shadow.

Montreal This Week is a newsletter that changes themes each week. The theme I choose for this project was “Bringing India to Montreal” to help Montrealers get a glimpse of the Indian culture. I learned how to lay out pages that have large amounts of text in order to not make it look overcrowded. Since the Indian culture is a very colorful culture, I added vibrant colour like red, orange and yellow which are also the colors associated with Navratri.

For this project, we had to recreate an employee manual for a company. My teammate and I chose Garage, a clothing brand. We were given the text and had to find the appropriate images for the booklet. We decided to have different layouts throughout the manual to make it more exciting.

The purpose of this project was to create a visitor’s guide for the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, using a layout that would be reusable for future guidebooks and work for multiple im-age formats. Using a grid helped me create a layout that was elegant and flexible.

“Nourishing our Community” is an report for a non-profit organization. The first part of this project was to research the organization in order to find the right images to use and then to design the annual report with the isupplied text and the selected images.

This web gallery was created to showcase my passion for photography. The viewer can see portrait photography as well as see the before and after of many images. The most challenging part about this website was making the gallery that worked with the layout of the page. I used a grid layout to make the pictures stand out well.

For this project, we had to create an abstract wine label called “Wild South” for a New Zealand vineyard. I used Photoshop brushes to make abstract shapes of different colours to use as the background of the label to portray the flavourful wine. The most challenging part about making the wine label was figuring out the size as there are different sizes depending on the shape of the bottle.

Our class was asked by the head of the Student Services program to make a sexual assault awareness poster for Vanier College. My partner and I created a poster about the aftermath and about not being ashamed to ask for help. The poster includes a border of shattered glass to represent a person’s broken soul and a pair of lips with a word cloud that represents a sexual assault.

This cover was designed for the 2019 yearbook for my class. I used a background with splashes of color in Photoshop to represent the colorful aspect of the program. On top of that, I illustrated a pair of eyes because the field of graphic design is a very visual field. I decided to emphasize those two elements to highlight key concepts in our field: the meaning of the color, and how to create a design for a wide audience.
