CASA FUNDADORES
The housing complex is located in a steep slope, which was used to create a common plaza on the top of it, and all the houses are placed on a lower level to avoid obstructing the view from the park.
The prototype of one of the houses con-sists of three volumes that follow the ground shape, articulated by small courtyards. Plac-ing the main access on the lower level, and private areas at the highest level intends that the public space or park of the entire com-munity will be free of cars.

GARCIA APPARTMENTS
Garcia Nuevo Leon is a typical place for northeastern architecture in Mexico. For this reason, the project meets certain constrains such as height, street line and massiveness of the site.
The building consists of two volumes sur-rounding a central courtyard with commer-cial area on the underground level. A rhythm of concrete brackets and open terraces are placed in each apartment according to the best view each can have. The intention is that the project lives to the inside and that the ex-terior retains the essence of the architecture of the place.

APODACA STATION
Large walls that contain social interest hous-ing complexes surround the site. More than just a fire station, the project aims to become a meeting point for those gated communities behind high walls and detonate coexistence between them.
The scheme starts with a circular plaza, sur-rounded by a series of classrooms arranged under a green slope, which divides the space of various activities from a large park. The sta-tion consists of two blocks: one is the work area and the second one the residence of the firefighters. Both articulated by a courtyard that connects also with the training yard.

GRÚA PORTAL
The public, cultural and educational spaces of the Fundidora park arise after the remod-eling and rehabilitation of its industrial and historical structures, such as the Blowers pa-vilion, Power Plant pavilion, and the Horno 3 museum among others. Given this constant, the proposal intends to continue with this language and in this case enable the Grua Portal as a museum, suspending a volume with tensors to the crane.
The project does not become intrusive of the green areas of the Funfidora park. It actually reuses an existing structure making the pro-posal more sustainable.

WHITE ISLAND
During the International Sustainability Forum a design exercise to propose strategies for a new sustainable city on an island in the Mexi-can Caribbean took place. To understand the re-planning of the most influential elements of the existing cities is the strategy that can be lead to the reduction of environmental im-pact.
The city demands a re-planning of its stron-gest elements to reintegrate them in a more efficient way to reduce the negative climate impact. Urban planning, mobility, as well as public and private space would be the for-mula for the proper functioning of the needed city.

M.U.R.O.
The wall that connects, communicates. The wall made of the desire of the city.A wall that does not segregate, instead it inte-grates.
Fear is in the inside of the people of Juarez, and enclosed shopping centers, gated communities, security gates, is the natural act to protect them-selves and deny everything, in order to survive the battlefield. You can’t remove the wall from the people with fear, it is impossible to voluntarily re-move them from the trench. Then, the divisor wall will be the solution. The wall itself is habitable, if filled with humanity, can make the change. A wall that is made of persons provides more protection than if it was made of reinforced concrete. A wall that instead of being a cage, begins to liberate, with a limit that grows by osmosis and gain pres-ence in the city for the people, allowing them to slowly return to live in their streets.
ARQUINE INTERNATIONAL CONTEST HONORS MENTIONTEAMMATES: GERARDO ROSENZWEIG, FRANCISCO MELENDEZ, JORGE FIGUEROA, JORGE QUIROGA, DANIEL VALERO.
![Page 44: KAREN ECV PORTFOLIO](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022042608/568bd4fb1a28ab203496c72d/html5/thumbnails/44.jpg)
The wall that in its path is leaving trac-es of urban life, and that turns the city back to life. This wall that comes and goes, never stops, then it is not a wall, is a connection. A wall that in the mid-dle contains life, which is composed of light and shadow, joy and sadness, ideas and illusions… Of humanity. Composed of city in practical terms.
To take this element, which gives a false exit and turn it into the change factor of the city. The wall that is con-structed daily by the people will con-tinue to provide shelter, but now a shelter in community, where it will be allowed little by little, with this wall of regeneration, to recover the city until it will be livable again.

2.Once the community occupies the maxi-mum capacity of the modules, the people will expand the bor-ders. The modules employed, as well as the media libraries, re-mamain as memories.
3.The perimeter will be re-define, placing new modules in the remain-ing spaces.
4.Once the module grows to its maxi-mum extention and delimitation of the wall is no longer neces-sary, there are the memories activating the urban space and the media libraries as a source of culture.
