Karate Students Testing Requirements

In order to be eligible to test, everyone must have fulfilled the following general requirements: The recommendation of Sensei The student must be training a minimum of twice a week and embodying the values of Dojo. The student must participate at least in one karate tournament per year. The student must show proficiency in karate movement for certain level. The student must meet a minimum maturity The students who are not ready yet for solid color belt will get a conditional white stripe

The various colored belts worn in karate signify a practitioner's rank. A beginner starts as a white belt, and works towards earning a black belt. In Karate, there are ten levels of colored belts before black, which are called ranks. Kyu ranks count backwards from 10brings you closer to first kyu. At 1st kyu, you may then test for black belt. 12 and 11 Kyu are given for children under 6 years old. Every colored belt has a conditional white stripe for those who are not ready yet for solid color belt. If student practice karate at least twice a week and demonstrate leadership skills should be able to get a 14 years old cannot be promoted to black belt. Students ages 1stripe-Shodan and they are required to refirst dan, second dan, and so on. In most karate organizations, ranks beyond 5th promotion to those ranks is based on your contribution to the karate organization and management of your school and region, as well as advanced karate research.
