At the Lover's Wharf, you can see a

    beautiful sunset at dusk, people

windsurfing at nightfall, and white birds

flying above the sea. In the proximity, a

tourist fish market featuring with a main

street that sells fresh seafood provides an

ideal place for dining and shopping. The

Seaside Cafe and Lovers' Wharf are the

place to go for visitors who enjoy feeling

the harmony between man and ocean.

At the Lovers' Wharf, visitors can take a

stroll along the seaside wooden footpath

and enjoy the romantic atmosphere of Europe. The footpath extends into the sea with a pile

supporting structure. Its descending stairways create step height as well as use space for seating.

You can walk along the wooden footpath and pause anytime you like to appreciate the changingfaces of the sky at different times of the day - in the morning, when the sun sets, or at dusk - and

    be immersed in romantic fantasies.

    Tianliao Moon World

Tianliao Moon World is a tract of barren

land between Chongde Village and Gutin

Village of Tianliao District. It has a dreary

and desolate beauty of desert and is

famous for its similarity to the landscape of

    the Moon surface.

This queer terrain is called "badlands" in

    geography an adverse landscape caused

by the strong erosion of rain and streams

over the years due to "rejuvenation" of the

earth's crust. The Tianliao Moon World sits

in the valley of a small tributary of Erren

River and used to have a dam for sediment

storage to store water in the rain season. The sight of it was called "yue-jing-nong-tang" (Farm

Pond on the Moon). However, the dam (farm pond) has been washed away over approximately a

decade of time with the continuous scour of rain. Today, nothing but total desolation is what is left

    there.

Apart from the eye-catching Chinese-style "Lan-Yue-Lou" (Moon Take Multistory Building) standing

in the proximity of the Moon World for visitors to rest and appreciate the sight, there are also

    Love River Sightseeing Boat

Almost all big cities have a beautiful river

passed by, this is especially true in

    Kaohsiung. Love River lies across

Kaohsiung for times of sunrises and

sunsets. Love River, known as Dagou River

in Qing Dynasty, was renamed by

    Japanese as Takao River.

The river was also called Kaohsiung Canal.

After restoration of Taiwan, the riverbanks

were beautified with greenery works and

developed to be park areas, decorated with

pillars chained with iron rope. The area

becomes a romantic place for lovers to

date with each other, therefore, the river

    was reputed as Love River.

In order to celebrate his dear Madam

    Chiang's birthday, the late president

Chiang Kai-Shek named it Renai River,

however, local people are still used to call

it Love River. The Love River has been a

dirty river with odorous smell due to pollution of industrial and house drainage. It was ironically

regarded as the ugliest landmark of Kaohsiung. Following years pollution control, the River

rebuilds its beauty, with egrets flying over and fishes playing waves.

On the banks, a number of parks and green lands were developed and constructed with a very long

bicycle way. You may wander relaxedly on the pathways of the banks, admiring the pleasantlandscape and enjoying the gentle touch of breeze.

At night, lights sparkle on Love River. Every day from 16:00-23:00, visitors can take the boats on

the east and west coast to look at the romantic and charming sights of Love River. Then, you might

like to enjoy drinking coffee at cafes of different moods, such as cafe literary and art squares over

River Mambo and olden Love River. It is nice to enjoy the aromatic coffee and listen to the music

with different moods and tempos, allowing the leisure of the harbor city to relax your body and

    soul.
