PLACEMENT REPORT 2016 - 2017

TRAINING ACTIVITIES @ KIT

Training plays a major role in shaping up the career goals of students. It is the dream of every engineering student to get placed in a top organization visiting their campus for recruitment. Keeping this key aspect into consideration, it is realized that training is important for engineering students to enhance their employability skills and achieve good placement in various Industries.

Our Training Activities include, Create awareness about “career planning" and "career mapping" among

the students. Equip the student with life skills. Train the students on “Personality development". Organize Various Training Programme to train the students in the areas

of Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning and Verbal reasoning through the reputed external training organizations and in-house trainers.

Train the students through Mock Interviews to perform well in the professional interviews as per the expectations of the corporate world.

Train the students on group discussion techniques.

In this academic year 2016 – 2017, the students from various departments have been stuffed with the following activities,

First Year (I Semester):-

1. School to College Orientation Program

S2C training was offered to our ECE, EEE, CSE, IT & CIVIL students of first year in their second semester for a duration of three days. The course primarily focuses on orienting new entrants towards the academic rigors of college, setting goals, understanding placement pre-requisites and kick starting their career preparation in the right direction.

First Year (II Semester):-

1. TOEIC – Bridge Course (L & R) with International Certification

TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) training was given to our first year students of ECE, EEE, CSE, IT & CIVIL right from the first semester in their regular class hours for a duration of 40 hrs. TOEIC is English-language proficiency for people whose native language is not English. It measures the everyday English skills of people working in an international environment. The final TOEIC test was conducted on April 23, 2017 to qualify and verify the current proficiency of our students.

SECOND YEAR (III SEMESTER):-

1. TOEIC – Bridge Course (L & R) with International Certification

SECOND YEAR (IV SEMESTER):-

1. Training on C , C++

Hone the IT skills in programming languages, training on C & C++ is mandatory to meet the requirements of the industry. This specific training was given to our second year students of ECE, EEE, CSE & IT in their fourth semester from February 13, 2017 to February 17, 2017 for a duration of 5 days.

2. Training on AutoCAD (2D Drafting and 3D Modelling)

The growth of the CAD is rapidly increasing and the opportunity for this digital engineering is also mounting, keeping this in mind we have offered on-site CAD training at our college for the Civil students of second year in their fourth semester for a duration of 60hrs along with their regular class hours.

THIRD YEAR (VI SEMESTER):-

1. Training on JAVA Java is a mainstream programming language that is utilized to make

programming and applications. Getting Java ensured and perceived is constantly useful for the student’s professions to begin their career. The JAVA training program was given to our third year students of ECE, EEE, CSE & IT for a duration of 5 days from February 6, 2017 to February 10, 2017.

2. Training on Autodesk’s Revit Architecture

Revit Architecture is a Building Information Modeling software tool for architects, and Civil engineers. Our third year Civil Engineering students were equipped with this training in their fifth semester along with their regular class hours for a duration of 60 hrs.

FINAL YEAR (VII SEMESTER):- 1. Training on Soft Skill

In order to communicate smartly and effectively with the corporate pupil and to get placed in their dream companies, our final year students were refreshed with the development of their Soft Skills. This training was given to the final year students of ECE, EEE, CSE , CIVIL & IT for a duration of 2 days between September 6, 2016 and September 12, 2016 in their seventh semester.

2. Training on STAAD PRO

STAAD Pro is the most widely used software for structure designing processes. This training helps Civil Engineers in creating, optimizing and modifying 3-D designs of buildings. STAAD PRO training was given to our final year students of Civil Engineering students in their VII Semester for a duration of 6 days between August and September of 2016.

Starting from first semester till eighth semester, our students at Kalasalingam Institute of Technology were trained with various training programme to face the challenges in the corporate world.

With these various trainings, our final year students have started to face their interview from the first week of September 2016.

First Year – S2C Training Program

PLACEMENTS @ KIT

Kalasalingam Institute of Technology is proud to have astounding 90% placement for the Class of 2017. This is considerably notable especially because of a rise in the recruiters and the faith entrusted by recruiters in the quality of our students.

The numbers of recruiters have increased by 48% from past year, increasing from 30 to 50 companies coming on campus with the highest salary of Rs: 6.5 lakhs/annum and an average salary of Rs: 4 lakhs/annum.

OFFER LETTER DISTRIBUTION FUNCTION

The offer letter distribution function for the academic year 2016 – 2017 was held on 7th May 2017. The function was inaugurated by Mr. Natarajan Krishnan, CEO, Parampara Family Business Institute, Bangalore and Ms.Rupali Dash, Consultant: Industry – Academia Collaboration, Entrepreneur, Bangalore. A warm welcome address was given by our beloved Principal, Dr.S.Harikrishnan and felicitated and honored by our esteemed Director, Dr.S.Shasi Anand. Placement Report for the academic year 2016 – 2017 was presented by Mrs. C.Vidhya, Training and Placement Cell Coordinator followed by the Chief Guest introduction by Ms.M.Vithyaa, Training and Placement Cell Coordinator.
