Hundreds Attend Festive Pleasanton Open House

Nearly 600 employees slated to move to the Pleasanton Technology Campus over the next two months got a sneak preview of their new workplace at an Open House on September 23. A second, similar event is scheduled for October 7 for employees moving to Pleasanton who were not able to attend the first one.

The Pleasanton Technology Campus will eventually house 1,200 KP employees in the four-building complex, which was originally built in 1998 as the world headquarters of PeopleSoft. Kaiser Permanente selected the site as a way to foster face-to-face collaboration in a single, state-of-the-art, easily accessible location.

Friendly Welcome from Locals Representatives from the City of Pleasanton were on hand to greet employees, and local restaurants, shops, and transportation services extended their welcome as well, providing samples, coupons, and giveaways for attendees to collect.

Local merchants donated 27 door prizes that ranged from tote bags and gift baskets to restaurant gift certificates, a high-end DVD player, and a weekend hotel getaway.

A team of docents provided tours of the campus, highlighting its amenities. Employees visited the Diablo Café, the buffet style restaurant located in Building B (which also catered the event), Club One, the onsite fitness facility, and the many other features that made the campus so appealing to Kaiser Permanente.

A second Open House is scheduled for October 7 for employees moving to Pleasanton who were not able to

attend the first one.
