Student profile :
Bhavani Sree hails from Yerukala community. Her father besides
continuing his traditional activity, basket making business encouraged
only daughter to pusue her education.
Bhavani Sree completed primary education inat Vidya Mandir School,
Kadapa and shifted to Basara Vignan Peeth, Kadapa. She completed
her 10th and Intermediate with good marks. Her interest to pursue
Engineering course coupled with her father’s support made her to complete B. Tech (CS) with
76% in the year 2016.
When Bhavani Sree expressed her desire to pursue studies abroad, her father approached
Bharat Institute of Engineering and Technology (affiliated to JNTUH) for seeking
guidance.The college authorities properly guided him to approach Tribal Welfare
Department for availing benefit for overseas education. Accordingly, he approached the
DTWO - Kadapa and submitted the online application for assistance under the scheme. The
Girl got assistance under AMBEDKAR OVERSEAS VIDYA NIDHI SCHEME. Tribal Welfare
Department sanctioned Rs. 10,00,000/-under scheme and released Rs. 5,65,000/- towards
university fee, Visa charges and Flight Charges as First instalment.
Bhavani Sree got admission in PG Course in School of Science and Computer Engineering,
University of Houston Clear lake, 2700, Bay area, Boulvere, Texas in United States of America
(USA). Presently she is studying and she completed, her 1st Semester of 1st year MS course.
Achievement:
She appeared for SSC Examinations during March,
2010 and secured 90% marks.

VIZIANAGARAM “Alcohol abuse not an obstruction to Satyanarayana
Student profile:
G. Satyanarayana, hails from Pedapadam village of Saluru Mandal in
Vizianagaram district. All his family members were alcoholic. This
habit not only ruined his family but also his father became victim of
alcohol and lost his life. Being a witness to such a pathetic situation
could not stop G. Satyanarayana from pursuing his studies by
availing support from the government.
Mr. Narasimharao, Principal of APTW-Junior College supported and
encouraged Satyanarayana to continue his studies.
Achievement:

Student profile :
Bhukya Swathibhai hails from a village of Palukuruthanda of Bollapalli Mandal, Guntur district. Her parents are agricultural labourers who migrate from place to place in search of seasonal works. Docranaik admitted her in a local Government School but she dropped out of School because of migration. She also started working as labourer After counselling by the HWO of Tenali, she was admitted to Tenali Girls Residential School. She determined to pursue her studies against the willingness of family members and father’s ill health. She successfully completed her 9th Class with a good grade. She has developed an interest in pursuing extra curricular activities like singing, dancing and making handicraft items. She has participated in competitions organized by school authorities.
Achievement: Strong will to pursue education and fine arts
Received several prizes in singing, dancing and making handicrafts at district level.
She graduated to the level of instructor in handicrafts to her peer group in hostel.

Student profile :
Veerapratap came from poor family not even having own house they are staying in their grandmother’s house at Atmakuru. His mother is working as nurse in a private hospital and father is working in private company in Hyderabad, earning very low income. His parents joined him in a Government school up to 7th class. Later they admitted the child at the School of Excellence (SOE), Srisailam. He continued studies at SOE from 8th Class to 10th standard.
Out of 53 students appeared in 10thclass examinations from the School of Excellence, 52 students passed out, and he got top rank i.e. 10/10 grade in School of Excellence, Srisailam (APTWRS).
He expressed that Government support for Tribes has become
a driving factor in his life to concentrate on his studies and to
achieve good marks. He believes that one should make use of
facilities and encouragement provided by the Government for
STs to reach higher levels. He followed the rule “Make Hay
while sunshine’s”

Way forward:

Dharavath Janaki is studying 5th class in Tribal Welfare
Residential Hostel, Mylavaram, Krishna District. Janaki is very
active in sports like Long Jump and Running Race.
Her father works as daily wage labor. Janaki is very much
interested in studies and sports.
She was admitted in 3rd class at Tribal Welfare residencial
hostel , Mylavaram in the year 2013.
Smt. V. Maheswari, Physical Education Trainer found that
Janaki is very active in long jump and running. The teacher
encouraged her talent and trained her for two months to participate in tournaments
conducted in Nellore. Janaki worked to the expectations of her teacher and got first prize in
long jump 3rd prize in running at intra district tournament.
Janaki has proved that ST students also can excel in sports with proper coaching and support
from teachers like Smt. V. Maheswari.

She got 1st prize in Long Jump and 3rd prize in
running race in Unit Level Tournaments
conducted in Nellore in December 2016.

Pavithr’s family hails from Giddalur mandal which is drought
prone area in Prakasam district and working in agricultural field is
very difficult. Though her parents are struggling to earn their daily
wages but they never failed in supporting Pavitra to pursue her

Pavithra did her primary schooling from Government primary
school while staying in Tribal Welfare hostel at Giddalur. Teachers
supported that she is good student with zeal to learn new thing.

6thclass; where she continued her studies up to 10th class. Earlier she was not good in
Mathematics. Her efforts Yielded good results in SSC Exam. She has developed passion for
learning.

GUNTUR “Dropout is not dead end’’ Says Mounikabai
Student profile:
Mounikabai studied at Government School up to 5th class.
Later joined Kasturba Gurukulapatahsala and continued
studies up to 8th class. After completion of 8th class, due to
economic constraints she had to dis-continue her studies and
had to take up agriculture works for 2 years. Though she
discontinued studies, but her strongwill to pursue studies and
pushed her to join again ST Government Girls Hostel and

The warden observed her interest in cultural activities and
