and was the Secretary and Treasurer o

the Edmonton Garrison Shooting Club.

While in the military, Kevin took a number

his knowledge o weapon systems,

as well as writing several papers on

recommended Weapon Fleet Moderniza-

was during this period that he became

Knights Armament Company has beendesigning, testing, and manuacturingsound suppressors, muzzle brakes andash suppressors or the past 26 years.In the beginning, hand calculations andextensive testing were required to validate

the eectiveness o early designs. Thedevelopments o our newer designs arecreated by utilizing the latest in niteelement analysis programs including ANSYSand AUTODYN. These systems are able toaccurately predict stress levels, thermalcharacteristics, and sound reduction levels.We are then able to optimize designs at lowcost and greatly minimizing development timeand improving the eciency o our designs.

Data gathered by the latest measurementtechniques has allowed us to more accuratelymodel suppressor behavior as a rst steptoward optimizing suppressor eectiveness

o all calibers. Measurement techniques suchas peak sound pressure recording, high speedvideo, thermal imaging, temperature andpressure recording, have all been employedas a means to determine suppressorperormance. High speed video in particular,

has helped us to better understand theaspects o gas ow both inside and outsidethe suppressor. Temperature is an importantaspect o suppressor design and key to thesuppressors ability to maintain structuralintegrity at high temperature. To withstandthe high temperature environment, KACmatches the material to the thermal andstructural requirements in the design phaseso that KAC suppressors can survive theextreme conditions over the ull operationalenvelope.
