Dear Parents

We at Bethany Kindergarten would like to wish all a very blessed New Year!

It was great to be back and we are sure that the children were just as excited as the teachers.

There were smiles and laughter as the children greeted each other.

They also welcomed our new friends and made them feel a part of the Kindy Family.

Our very own portrait… using crepe paper for our hair…and

using colour pencils to add in the details…


Love 1


This is the first craft from Love 1

They used large crayons to colour the capital letter D.

Next, they used stickers to decorate the letter. This involved the use of their fine motor skills as they were

required to peel the sticker and paste them onto the paper….

And most of them were able to complete this task confidently and very quickly.

Next, they put glue (they had to use the glue stick) onto the head of the dog and stuck this onto the letter.

Avril showed her baby doll and showed her friends how a pacifier works.

Jayne told her friends that her bear is a mix of purple and pink.

Sophie brought along Peppa Pig and some friends. She said that she keeps them in a cup.

Fun & Movement

Listening skills were tested as the children followed the different instructions

given in this simple yet fun game!

How to play the game:

a. Teacher calls out the locomotor skill that the children are to perform for each round and becomes the

traffic light.

b. Each colour of the traffic light represents an instruction.

c. If “red light” is called, everyone must freeze.

d. If “yellow light” (amber) is called, everyone must move in slow motion.

e. If “green light” is called, everyone must move quickly.

Love 1 & 2

This provides the Love children with an opportunity to develop their spatial and body awareness as well.


They also get to interact and move around with their friends during the game!

Joy & Peace

The traffic light game was incorporated into the ‘Mr Wolf” game for the Joy and Peace children!

Instead of listening for the time that ‘Mr Wolf’ gives,

the children were to listen for the traffic light signals that will be given.

Once they reach and tap the teacher, who will then be the catcher as the children runs back to base.


The Peace children played an additional game that further cultivates their listening skills.

Colour stools were placed around the courtyard.

In addition to the traffic light game, the Peace children had to listen out for the instruction of which colour

stool they should find.

“Green light” and “Green stool” are not the same! They have to listen very carefully!


Aesthetics (Cooking)

It Was Fun Cooking Up More Doggies ( & bones) ….

It’s cooking time with Doggie Bread …

pictures shown to the children to give them an idea of what the Doggie Bread could look like ….

Ingredients – flour + salt, yeast + sugar and water (pre-made dough which was allowed time to rise …)

Cook session with the Love 1 & 2 about to begin.

They were really very good – listening attentively and raring to go …

And off they go with their dough ….


Pummelling, rolling between their palms, patting ;

fixing the ears and gently adding the eyes, nose ….

ooh ! … everyone just loved what they made – dogs of different shapes and sizes.

There were just dog faces;

some made a whole brood of little puppies;

some had bones to go with the doggie.

It was just such an awesome, delightful sight!

The children were evidently pleased with their creation!

A witty pun from one of the kids, “ooh… the hot dogs are in the

Our doggies are done – fresh, hot and crisp !!!
