  We got out of the car after I had parked in front

of her row house.

 In this moment, I saw complete beauty in her and wondered whether I

should break this moment by initiating what could possibly be the wrong

move. 

  - “Did you have a good time?” I finally said to her. 

      -“Oh, yes,” she responded. “I had a great time.” 

       - “Yeah, it was a fun party.” 

       - “Yes, it was.” 

I looked at her closely, seeing her shivering

badly but not budging. She’s not moving, I

mentally noted. Does this mean she’s thinking

the same thing I’m thinking? God, I hope so…but is she waiting

for me to make the first move?

“Hey, Lloyd,” she said.       “Yeah?” I answered.        “Is this where we’re supposed to kiss?”    Yes, Lloyd, I commanded myself, say, “Yes.”       “I…I think so. I dunno,” I blurted out. “I guess it is…but only if you want to.”        “I’m fine with it,” Mira whispered softly, “but only if you’re okay with it.”        “I’m okay with it.”        “You sure?” 

She put her arms around me as I placed my hands on her

hips.

Our heads moved closer and closer to each other, tilted at the appropriate angle so that our lips would meet gently. 

Our lips touched each other’s and we kissed in a manner that was a little more passionate, a little

more romantic, and a little more French than the little kiss we had started out with. We

remained in our embrace for what felt like a joyful

eternity.
