    Step 1: Sew a 1-1/2” Fabric B strip to a 1-1/2” Fabric A strip. Press the seams open. The strip should be 2-1/2” wide. Repeat to make five strip sets like this. Subcut to make:

    Step 2: Sew the three 5-1/2” long units together, adding a 5-1/2” Fabric A strip to the Fabric B end. Press the seams open. Set aside for the outer left border.

    Step 3: Sew the three 12-1/2” long units together, adding a 12-1/2” Fabric A strip to the Fabric B end. Press the seams open. Set aside for Section C.

    Step 4: Sew the eight 7-1/2” long units together. Press the seams open. Set aside for Section C.

    Step 6: Sew a 1-1/2” Fabric B strip to a 1-1/2” Fabric C strip. Press the seams open. The strip should be 2-1/2” wide. Repeat to make two strip sets like this. Subcut to make:

    six 5-1/2” x 2-1/2” units

    seven 6-1/2” x 2-1/2” units

    Step 5: Sew the six 15-1/2” long units together. Press the seams open. Set aside for Section E.

    Step 8: Sew the seven 6-1/2” long units together, adding a 6-1/2” Fabric B strip to the Fabric C end. Press the seams open. Set aside for Section E.

    Step 9: Sew a 1-1/2” Fabric A strip to a 1-1/2” Fabric F strip. Press the seams open. The strip should be 2-1/2” wide. Repeat to make two strip sets like this. Subcut to make:

    three 9-1/2” x 2-1/2” units

    three 5-1/2” x 2-1/2” units

    Step 11: Sew the three 5-1/2” long units together, adding a 5-1/2” Fabric A strip to the Fabric F end. Press the seams open. Set aside for the top outer border.

    Step 10: Sew the three 9-1/2” long units together, adding a 9-1/2” Fabric A strip to the Fabric F end. Press the seams open. Set aside for Section A.

    Step 12: Sew a 1-1/2” Fabric B strip to a 1-1/2” Fabric H strip. Press the seams open. The strip should be 2-1/2” wide. Repeat to make five strip sets like this. Subcut to make:

    five 15-1/2” x 2-1/2” units

    six 11-1/2” x 2-1/2” units

    Step 13: Sew the five 15-1/2” long units together, adding a 15-1/2” Fabric B strip to the Fabric H end. Press the seams open. Set aside for Section B.

    Step 14: Sew the six 11-1/2” long units together. Press the seams open. Set aside for Section D.

    Step 15: Sew a 1-1/2” Fabric B strip to a 1-1/2” Fabric G strip. Press the seams open. The strip should be 2-1/2” wide. Repeat to make two strip sets like this. Subcut to make:

    two 12-1/2” x 2-1/2” units

    seven 6-1/2” x 2-1/2” units

    two 5-1/2” x 2-1/2” units

    Step 16: Sew the two 12-1/2” long units together, adding a 12-1/2” Fabric B strip to the Fabric G end. Press the seams open. Set aside for Section A.

    Step 17: Sew the two 5-1/2” long units together. Press the seams open. Set aside for Section A.

    Step 18: Sew the seven 6-1/2” long units together. Press the seams open. Set aside for Section A.

    Step 19: Sew a 2-1/2” Fabric B strip to a 2-1/2” Fabric H strip. Press the seams open. The strip should be 4-1/2” wide. Subcut to make:

    four 9-1/2” x 4-1/2” units

    Step 20: Sew the four 9-1/2” long units together, adding a 9-1/2” Fabric B strip to the Fabric H end. Press the seams open. Set aside for Section E.

    Step 21: Sew a 2-1/2” Fabric B strip to a 2-1/2” Fabric G strip. Press the seams open. Make two strip sets like this. The strip sets should be 4-1/2” wide. Subcut to make:

    three 9-1/2” x 4-1/2” units

    four 12-1/2” x 4-1/2” units

    Step 22: Sew the three 9-1/2” long units together. Press the seams open. Set aside for Section D.

    Step 23: Sew the four 12-1/2” long units together, adding a 12-1/2” Fabric G strip to the Fabric B end. Press the seams open. Set aside for Section E.

    Step 24: Gather the units shown. Sew together in three rows, pressing the seams to one side. Sew the three rows together to complete Section A.

    Assemble Section A

    Step 25: Gather the units shown. Sew together in two sections, as shown, pressing the seams to one side. Sew the two sections together to complete Section B.

    Sew the top and bottom outer borders to the quilt center. Press.
