Last year, when scratching our heads working out where to take the kids on tour, we faced the usual dilemma;

Destination - Where to head Opposition – who can we play? Can we play more than one team? Family - Are we taking the parents as well as the players? What about the players siblingsAccommodation - What sort of accommodation is a) affordable for all? B) Acceptable to all? Entertainment - Other than rugby what other activities?Transportation – Travel together or under own steam? Coach or train?Cost – Shall we arrange it ourselves to keep the cost (in money but not in time) down or use one of these agencies?Fun - Will the kids have room to be…. Kids?

Whilst we still face this dilemma, we think we have solved it for you!

Come stay with us!Destination - Kirkby Lonsdale rugby club is just 10 minutes from the motorway and set in 30 acres of beautiful countryside, just 5 minutes walk from the centre of Kirkby Lonsdale (and all that our historic market town has to offer), situated between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales.

Opposition - Our mini section is one of the biggest in the North West and, having been established over 30 years ago, pretty well run thanks to our army of volunteers. We have good squads at all age groups and, if you want more opposition, we also can call on a number of local clubs to either come and play you here or at theirs’s.

Family – Between the club, the town and our wider area; your players and their families will never be short of things to do. We have breath-taking scenery, great shopping, loads of attractions and activities, oh, and yes, 10 pubs within a 5 minute walk of the club.

Two nights camping with meals & fixture(s)

Accommodation – We can provide you with camping and food at the club, we can even lend (and assemble) you some tents. For your more discerning travellers, Kirkby Lonsdale offers the range of accommodation you would expect from a tourist destination whether you are looking for a simple/boutique/luxury pub/b&b/hotel.

Entertainment – loads of it. From giving you the run of our clubhouse, rugby golf, watersports, team building, climbing and trek-king, motorised, you name it we’ve got it.

Transportation – We can arrange your travel. To ours from yours and/or from ours to your activities.

Cost – No agencies involved. We will organise everything for you here at the club and with our partners in the community. With prices starting at just £50 per person per night including meals and at least a couple of games of rugby, we think its great value for money.

Fun – No one understands kids like a rugby club that has been running a mini and youth section for over 30 years. If the kids are having fun, the parents can relax, if the parents relax, the organiser can leave their padded cell and HAVE FUN.

Accommodation options and partnersWorking with a number of fantastic local hotels, guest houses, holiday homes and caravan parks, we can arrange a range of accomodation to suit all teams and budgets. Our beautiful grounds also provides you with the option to camp ‘on site’ in your own campers, tourers or tents. We also have tents available to hire, which we can have up, ready and waiting for you.

On the pitch...With strong numbers at all age groups, we would love to give you a game or two. Throughout March and April we have room to accomodate all your mini and youth teams. We also have excellent relationships with a number of clubs in the area and can arrange fixtures with them at ours or theirs, as one off games, tri fixtures, mini festivals, tournaments, full side games, sevens, or tens.

Off the pitch...Nestled between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales, the world is your oyster! From Rugby Golf just (included in our package) 5 minutes drive away to something more adventurous, we have it all to offer your players, you and your families.

Our packagesOur packages can be tailored to you and your group and your budget. For camping onsite we offer two packages; Bring your own tents, tourers & campers (or any combination) or we can have tents ready and waiting for your arrival.For £55 per person - Example Itinerary

You would camp in your own tent, tourer, camper in one of our camping areas at the club. All in close proximity to the clubhouse and facilities.

Arrive Friday night and set up camp and enjoy a hot snack in the clubhouse (the bar will be open).

Saturday morning - Cooked Breakfast (cereals etc are also available) in the clubhouse

Followed by a round of rugby golf and then lunch

Saturday afternoon - play the first fixture(s) of your tour or depart for a prearranged activity or two which we can arrange in advance for you.

Saturday evening - Evening meal, the bar again will be open.

Sunday morning - Cooked Breakfast (cereals etc are also available) in the clubhouse

Followed by matches against our teams, or we can arrange for oth-ers to join us.

and Depart.

For £70 per person

It would be the same itinerary, without the hassle of putting up your own tents.

Based on 4 sharing a six man tent. We have tents availble to hire which would be assembled and ready for you to just onload your bags and get on with enjoying your weekend.

For £80 per person

You will need to bring your own clothes! But pillows, sleeping bags and carry mats will all be provided.

Mix and match

Some of your group may have their own camping gear whereas some don’t. Our tents are available to hire for £60 for the week-end.

Alternative accommodation

Some or all of your group may prefer something a little more substantial than a tent. We have a range of accommodation avail-able in the area and we can discuss/arrange these options with/for you. We can arrange B&Bs, Hotels & Self catering accommo-dation for some or all of your travelling group.
