Just a little about me…

I started out as an athlete being the only one sibling of four that knew what I wanted to do

when I was in high school.

I graduated as a 3-year Varsity letter winner in volleyball. I went on to earn a full-ride at

the Eastern Kentucky University where I saw my passion for Adult Wellness light up before

my eyes. I earned a team Work Ethic award my junior year to find that I wanted more so, I

created change in my life and moved forward to the University of Akron in which I earned

a MAC East Championship title my last collegiate year of my not quite finished career as a

competitive volleyball player.

I found myself engaged in the U of A fitness center for faculty member, ZipFit. There, I

gained further knowledge and experience in fitness testing and exercise prescription in an

overweight and obese population. While at Akron, I helped a friend start up her own

Curves for Women, not one but 2 franchises in the North Canton, OH area.

I moved forward after graduating with an Exercise Science degree, concentrating in

Coaching and Strength & Conditioning to gain my ACSM CPT. I decided to manage a

Curves in my hometown while coaching volleyball at the high school level. I enjoyed

helping women increase activity, engage them to try adapt healthy behaviors and further

developed my passion for nutrition by becoming a weight management facilitator for the

Curves program. As I continued coaching, I further explored becoming a WIN (weight-

inspired nutritionist) instructor for Slim and Tone, the Nutrisystem exercise regimen in

Lewis Center & Powell, OH. I later stepped into a Fitness Consultant opportunity that

allowed me to work with Dublin City Recreation Center members through food log

analysis, behavior change and exercise adherence. While only a year into the position, a

Corporate group fitness substitute opportunity was positioned in front of me and within a

year, I became a full time Health Fitness Specialist for ProFitness, then CHD Meridian, then

as Take Care Health Systems took over and inside 3 years’ experience as an HFS, I earned

the Program Manager position and now am a Health Fitness Manager with Premise Health.

During the last 9 years at my site, The Online Computer Library Center (OCLC), I have

managed the center, taught a variety of group fitness classes, implemented exercise

programs and testing, adapted several wellness programs and activities and also had the

opportunity to personally work with over 125 employees and counting… through an annual

ongoing weight management program, that through activity and energy checks and

balances have enabled a 70% change in body composition inside that population.

As a certified AASDN Nutrition Specialist, I have also been able to help 4 people lose over

100 pounds and keep it off. In addition to this, capturing my AFAA primary GFC, ZUMBA,

and PiYO certification, has allowed me to help people manage their weight long term,

increase quality of life, reduce their risk factors for disease & disability and so much more.

Continuing to coach volleyball and playing competitive indoor and sand volleyball all year

round has enabled me to continue to enjoy life and keep a competitive and confident

edge that sets me aside than any other.

I also am a single-mom of an adventurous son, Aurelius, 6. We enjoying building Legos

and creating adventures each and every day. I also have a soul-mate that lives in TN

continuing to pursue his passion as a Conference USA Track & Field/Cross-Country Coach.

I believe that there are better options for individuals as it all does depend on what you are

trying to achieve. I always keep that in mind when working with an individual while the

assisting them to make changes for the betterment of their health through nutrition and

activity.

I am very passionate in my line of work and in life. I thrive on serving my client with the

upmost respect first and then continuing to act upon persistence as it can seriously change

failure into extraordinary achievement.

THE BEST IS YET TO COME
