Mary Flynn discusses the possibility of a tax being placed on various sodas. She believes this tax would aid in the fight against obesity. (http://www.healthycal.org/archives/7136)

The city of Richmond proposed a tax on the soda based on the amount, for example 1 cent per ounce of soda.

This article provides detailed statistical evidence that would provide support for the implication of taxing other sugary junk foods.

The article also provides many examples of how a tax on any sugary substance could be beneficial to the obesity problem and how the money raised from taxes could be used for children’s health funds for fighting obesity.

It provides various statistics and statements from officials that help support their case and provides direct quotes from officials involved with the case.

The many government articles within this site are credible because they contain many facts about the issue and are written based on evidence.
