Hello Friends,
I’’’’ve been busy this week as I was snoop-
ing around, doing my
business and catching
the news as it was
happening at the Jun-
ior Division at GI.
Wow, it’’’’s been a great week! The
voices of fun-filled
laughter were heard
throughout the halls,
as campers were tran-
sitioning from Karate,
to the moon bounce,
and to the Gan Izzy
water park to splash
in the summer sun.
They also had a visit
from the Fun Bus,
where they got to do
all kinds of gymnas-
tics on a special bus.
The theme of this
week was Mezuzot.
J un i o r c ampe r s
learned all about Me-
zuzot and the protec-
tion they provide
when on our doors.
They went on a spe-
cial hunt to find Me-
zuzot and got to see
all different kinds.
There were the fine
casings, and of course
they got to see the
actual parchment in-
side which has the
Shema written in it.
On Tuesday, the Jun-
ior campers boarded
the buses as they
headed out for a
fabulous trip to the
zoo! There they got
to see all kinds of ani-
mals and enjoyed a
nice snack.
It’’’’s been a storm of a week and campers
and staff alike are-
looking forward to
the upcoming weeks
of fun filled days at
Gan Izzy! That’s all
for now and I’ll keep
looking for more ex-
citing news to tell you
about next week,
Adios and Shabbat
Shalom!

The Best Camp for the Best Children ...YOURS!
Junior Division
Hello Friends! This sum-
mer, I will be traveling with you as
the Senior Division at Gan Izzy
hikes through Israel! Yup that’s the
theme here at camp GI and it
couldn’t be better.
Aside from the awesome
bunk names which tell us about
different cities in Israel, each day
campers are learning new things
about the land, the history, and the
people of Israel. So get your hiking
gear ready as I begin to share with
you some of the great stuff that
went on here this week.
“Happy Birthday to you…”
Yup you guessed it! This week we
had ‘birthday day’, where campers
learned about their Jewish Birth-
days and got to decorate cupcakes
and make cards. They also dis-
cussed Jewish names and what it
m e a n s t o t h e m .
The fun-shops with the
drumming, karate, sports, hip-hop,
baking, and more, the swimming
and water park were a real blast for
all the campers! It was too bad the
weather canceled the Boomers trip,
but it ended up being kewl cuz’ the
Long Island
Childrens Museum was both fun
and educational! (I even heard
from the little birdie that we’re go-
ing to Boomers in 2 weeks instead).
Family day turned out to be
pretty funny, especially when there
was an addition to camp...cute little
baby Mushka!
Well it’s been great hiking
with ya’ll! Looking forward to the
coming week as the trek continues!
Adios and Shabbat Shalom !
I remain yours truly,

Dear Parents,
Camp was incredible this week and all the children had a blast! Ask them about all the fun activities they did, all the new information they learned, and ask them to teach you some songs. Make sure to check our website to see daily updated pictures and news @ WWW.CAMPGI.COM.
Beginning Monday, cars will be allowed to pull up at the front entrance for camper drop-off unless you wish to ac-company your child to his/her classroom
We would like to remind you about our Family BBQ this Thursday, July 6 from 4:00-5:30 PM. Please sign up at the camp office, we’d love to have you join us.
This Friday. July 7 is PICTURE DAY. Please send your child to camp with his/her camp t-shirt.
We are so excited for the upcoming weeks and have lots of fun in store. Please feel free to call us with any com-ments, questions, or concerns.
Have a great Shabbos,
Rabbi Shimon & Chanie Kramer
With a blessing on her lips and a prayer in her
heart, the Jewish woman ushers in Shabbat HaMal-
kah, the Sabbath Queen, into her home.
For centuries, lighting the Shabbat candles has been
one of the most significant mitzvot bestowed upon
Jewish women. Tradition recounts the miracle of
our Matriarch, Sarah, whose Shabbat candles mi-
raculously burned from Shabbat to the following
Shabbat. Our Sages tell of our Matriarch, Rivkah,
who lit the Shabbat candles at the tender age of
three.
The Holy Zohar teaches, "A woman kindling the
Shabbat candles, with joy in her heart, brings peace
on earth, health and happiness to her family, and is
blessed with children who brighten the world with
the light of tradition."
