The Orchid ExperienceLots of people grow a few orchids, theyadmire the pretty blooms and neverthink twice about the wider, wilder, world of orchids that waits just beyondthose Phal's on the windowsill or theCymbidiums on the porch. A few ofthese casual growers will have theircuriosity tweaked, maybe by a friend, ashow, or an exhibit. Once roused, thecurious can immerse themselves in awealth of information on the Internet, books, and at their friendly local orchidsociety. As president of the friendlylocal society, I, and the rest of theboard, try to bring you a variety ofactivities to make your orchidexperience as fulfilling as possible. Butall of our meetings, speakers, raffletables, social events, and outings areonly part of the full orchid experience. So here are a few more things to add toyour orchid bucket list that you can'tfind at a COS meeting, the orchid worldis a very big and interesting place.
