Have you ever thought of what prayer really is? Don’t feel bad if you haven’t! Sometimes we tend to have these

lofty ideas that prayer is some sort of sacred art that you have to have a black belt in to get your requests heard. Let’s read Jeremiah 33:3 --

“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”

Pull out your cell phone. Yea, that handy device that never leaves your side-- the one that connects you to

Facebook & your friends in about 5000 different ways-- yea take a look at that device and think about how easy it is to send a quick text off to your bestie. I bet it wouldn’t be hard for you to start up a conversation about something that would get the chatter going back and forth fast, am I right?

Well, that’s exactly how it should be with God. You see, God is like that best friend on the other end of the

text message, and He has some AMAZING things to tell you-- “Unsearchable things” He says.

In the New Testament the Word of God tells us to “Pray never ceasingly”. That means to always be praying-- I

think of those text conversations that start in the morning and sort of develop throughout the day with a text here and there. Our determination to continue praying throughout our day is going to really pay off in our walk with God. Being steadfast in our prayer life means being connected to the source of unsearchable wisdom. It will help you grow and succeed in life!

How can you start to develop a continious prayer conversation with God? Start by opening up the Word

and picking one thing that stands out to you. Ask God what it means, ask Him direct questions about it, then listen! God wants to talk back, so don’t forget and take note of what He says. This is the start of a GREAT and long friendship!

Its no mystery-- every year around this time we all start getting the itch to clean house (er, closet) and stock up on some fresh new swag. We like to refer to this as Camp Wardrobe Frenzy, but you

might just refer to it is [SHOPPING]. Hey-- there’s no shame in hitting the mall for the next three weekends to find the perfect outfits for a very important 5 day week -- In fact, we support it. So SHOP ON, and in case you need some ideas, we’ve got you covered.

Don’t give us that look, you know it and I know it-- you want the perfect bag to put all your cool new stuff in. PLUS, there’s that added fashion value that only comes from having the right tote. Here are some of the picks that caught our eyes. You can start mentally making room for them now.

Christina Jack, 17Dr. Michael Krop Senior High School

“It was definitely Joshua that lead me to Camp Decision.” Jack admits. According to her, it was the general excitement about camp that only fuels the fire. As she signed up, people covered her with appreciation and advice. “Everyone just kept on repeating how life changing this really is,” she remembers. However, reactions from her classmates were mixed. Many of them questioned her decision and even doubted that she would go through with it!

She stood firm though, when most young adults would crumble under the pressure of friends and family. After her Camp Decesion Experience, Christina plans to see her faith skyrocket and being open to everything that God has in store.

Delpria Hubbard, 13Perry Middle School

When asked about her Camp Decision experience, Delpria let’s out a big sigh. Frankly, she doesn’t know where to begin. She remembers the experience being nerve-racking for short time.

More importantly, she remembers the praise and worship being life changing. “There’s so much power in praise and worship,” she agrees, “ I knew [from the start] that it was a Holy Ghost camp.” It was an alter call that changed her life forever that summer, and she has never been the same since. And as a Camp Decision veteran, she urges anyone seeking a closer relationship with God to go to this event, “It’s the strongest start” she explains. “You not only learn His word, but what He has in store for you.”

Joshua Brinsley, 17Young Man’s Prepatory Academy

This 4-year Camp Decesion veteran recalls his first experience as if it was yesterday. It was summer of his 7th grade and at this time camp was located at the Florida Institue of Technology campus. One of the many things he remembers was Thursday Miracle Night and how one particular friend stepped up in boldness in front of seas of young people.

He argues that his third year was definitely the best. “Praise and worship was amazing and I remember feeling like everyone was at top level. It was as if, from their first experience, people were growing.” Joshua explains that when they all came together that year, the Spirit of God grew out of control. Joshua and his friends are expecting an overwhelming response to the Spirit this year at camp and as he gets ready for camp he is getting his friends excited as well.

This month, I interviewed 3 students from LIFEFORCE who wanted to share their side of Camp Decision. Some have been to camp before

and know exactly what to expect, while others are stepping out for the first time and are about to find out. Read their stories and find out what people are thinking about as they get ready for Camp Decision.
