Greetings LaMissTenn District Board,
Whether or not you sang the title of this page like I
hoped you would, I’m sure that you all are just as excited
for summer as I am! Summer is my favorite season
because it is filled with adventures and memories made
with family and friends.
This newsletter contains important information for the
upcoming month, so be sure to read everything! I cannot
begin to express how overjoyed I am to be working with
you all this year. New Board Training was a successful
weekend, and I could immediately realize that you all are
dedicated, hardworking, and enthusiastic for this
organization. These qualities are important for a successful
board.
Next month we will be traveling to Anaheim,
California, for the 71st Annual Key Club International
Convention! I cannot wait to travel with you all and have
an incredible time.
If you have any questions regarding the information
in this newsletter, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Yours in Friendship and Service,
Tabitha Kearns

Keeping Tabs
It is more important than ever to encourage
fundraising efforts for The Eliminate Project because
the project will be completed in 2015. Encourage
your clubs to have fundraisers and more importantly,
inform them more about the project. You may also
want to give them ideas for fundraisers. Clubs will look
to you for advice and ideas regarding the project.
Your PCMs are a great way to educate clubs.
As of May 26, 2014, the Kiwanis-family Service
Leadership Programs have raised US$2,937,246.20 in
total funds. This sum equates to saving and
protecting over 1.6 million women and babies. Key
Club International encourages each KCI member to
donate at least $5.40 this year. If each member
donates this amount, we can reach the goal of
eliminating MNT from the Democratic Republic of
Congo as well as eliminating it off of the face of the
earth by 2015.
The Eliminate Project Committee has some great
ideas this year that include developing an interactive
forum for you to use at your rallies. It is crucial for you
to have a fundraiser at your rally for the project.

June To-Do List
During June, you should be collecting your clubs’ contact information that is due on June
30th. This contact information should be sent to Hunter, and you should “cc” me in those
emails.
If you do not have a PCM in June, you need to have one in July and every month following.
PCMs are important for efficient communication.
Remember to adhere to the various due dates for monthly reports, executive evaluations,
and committee reports. The committee chair is responsible for completing the report.
Committees should be discussing and planning ideas discussed during the committee
meetings held at the end of May.
You should start planning for your rally. I know that you may think you do not need to start
planning this early, but I highly advise you to do so. You will never regret early planning!
Lastly, remember to have fun with friends and family and catch some rays!

Getting Rally Ready
Rally season will be here before we
know it! It is very important for you to
start planning during the summer
before you get busy with school
again. We will be having a rally Q&A
session one night during ICON. The
executive board asks that you bring
the “skeleton” of your rally to ICON.
This includes forum ideas, your
fundraiser idea for The Eliminate
Project, activities during your rally,
and logistics, such as food and
decorations.
Happy birthday goes out to the
following awesome board members:
Ariana June 2nd
Erik June 24th
Hope y’all have an amazing day!
Happy Birthday!

Secretary-Treasurer, and I have a photo
