Parish Ministers
ST. VINCENT DE PAUL REFLECTION
In the Gospel today, we celebrate the birth of John
the Baptist and everyone pondered the question:
“What, then, will this child be? For surely the hand
of the Lord was with him.”
This month, “the hand of the Lord has been acting
through you” as your gifts, to the Society of St.
Vincent de Paul brought his love and care to the poor
by assisting families with food, utilities, rent and
other bills, etc. Thank You!
Giving Made Easy!
Would you find it helpful to have your offerings debited directly from your bank account as you may
do for other payments? St. John the Baptist offers electronic giving for those who wish to have
contributions transferred electronically and safely. If you have plans to travel, electronic giving gives
you a convenient way to keep up with your offerings. Simply go to www.sjbnewburgh.org and click on
Parish, Giving, then Direct Debit Form—or call the parish office at 490-1000 and we can set it up for you.
ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH MISSION STATEMENT
Be the heart of Jesus by sharing His mercy and love. Be the hands of Jesus by serving one another.
Be the feet of Jesus by walking in others’ shoes.

PLEASE REMEMBER OUR FOOD PANTRY!
Hunger knows no season! Our Newburgh Food Pantry
shelves need to be stocked year-round so those
seeking help have food and essentials. There is a
donation box located between the Elizabeth and Zachary
Rooms (to the left of Narthex). Also donations can be
dropped off anytime at the Parish Office or the Food
Pantry (open M, W, F 9-11:30 a.m. and the last Thursday

FR. DENIS O’BRIEN TO VISIT
NEXT WEEKEND
On the weekend of June 30/July 1, Fr. Denis O’Brien
will visit the parish to speak at all the Masses about the
missionary work of the Irish Pallottine Fathers in
Tanzania, Kenya and Columbia. Please drop off any
donations in the collection baskets that will be at all
exits as you leave Mass. Donations will support their
work of evangelization and development in those
struggling countries. Please be generous in your
support of their missionary outreach.
The Pallottine Fathers were founded in Rome in 1835 by
St. Vincent Pallotti to promote the revival of faith and
charity in the world. Father Denis serves in Columbia
and will share his experiences there.
No Bible Study in July
Please note: there will be no Bible study in the
month of July. Bible study will return later this
summer—please watch the bulletin for information.

Guide Book & Directory
Advertising Opportunity
We are in the process of updating our annual Guide
Book & Directory for the church. This book will
contain everything pertinent to our church: the various
ministries, organizations, committees, activities,
functions and events plus a complete directory of all
members. This book is being provided and direct-mailed
to each family at no cost to our church, and it is again
being subsidized by local businesses that advertise.
Recent survey results by Guide Book Publishing show
that 92.1% of families would rather patronize a Guide
Book & Directory advertiser over a non-advertiser.
It “will pay” to advertise in our Guide Book & Directory.
Companions on the Journey… we’re here to help
If you or someone you know has recently experienced a loss or divorce, or has become a caregiver and would like someone to confidentially walk with you, we are here to help. Just call the parish office and a coordinator will call back to set you (or your friend/loved one) up with someone who has gone through a similar situation. The
number is 812-490-1000. We are here to listen and we want to help.

Update Membership Information
Does our Church database have your family membership record correct? Now is your chance to
update your record for our annual Guide Book & Directory (if you haven’t already done so).
It is time for us to update our database with any changes, additions, or deletions that may have
occurred in your family over the past year.
Have you changed your phone number? Have you moved? Are you preparing to move soon? Are all of your
children still at home and are they all included in your membership record? Do you want your record published?
If you have not already informed us about changes to your record, please let us know now so that the infor-
mation in the Guide Book & Directory is correct. The Church Office number is (812) 490-1000.
Thank you for your help!
