A Family Perspective ~ June 24th ~ Birth of John the Baptist Sunday The question in today’s gospel, “What will this child be?” concerns all parents. We spend years trying to influence and shape the answer, hoping our children will be “strong in spirit”, like the Baptist, and “blessing God” like Zachariah. by Bud Ozar
Life Runners (@liferunners.org) ~ “Before I
formed you in the womb I knew you before you were born
I dedicated you, a prophet to the nations I appointed you.”

Annual Catholic Appeal (ACA) - Thanks to your
generous donations, we reached our Annual Catholic
Appeal goal for this year! However, the Priest Retirement
Fund still has a balance for our parish of $4,113. Note that
there are two similar collections: Retired Religious is for
priests of various orders and Religious Sisters and
Brothers. The other collection called Perpetuate the Gift is
for our own Diocesan priests. This is the collection that
we’re still needing to reach the goal of over $7,600. We’re
getting there, just note that anything not donated by
parishioners the Parish has to pay by June 30.

A Summer Retreat weekend for Women and Men will be held July 6-8, 2018. The theme of the retreat will be “Mys ticism – The Heartbeat of God.” We all have mystical experiences, but we’re not all mystics. How can we learn how to live a mystically driven life? We will explore this topic, gleaning some insights from Fr. Ron Rolheiser, OMI
and from the “mystical” gospel of John. The Retreat will be led by Father Marty Nassr, a senior status priest of the Diocese. This will be a repeat of the retreat that was given in February (several had requested that it be held in the summer). The retreat starts early Friday evening July 6th and ends with a closing late morning Mass on Sunday, July 8th.
